@KingRayVeteran You can - should at least - be able to do a "clean boot" rather than booting into safe mode. some links / instructions below.
Then run sfc and dism to check and if necessary fix any corrupted files.
A clean boot is simply one where you stop anything that is not a Microsoft processes from starting when you first turn your PC on.
Example: if you use Steam, say, Steam may start as part of the computer's boot up. So you "disabled it at start-up".
On my PC Steam - and lots of other things - don't start at boot because I "disabled them at start-up". This doesn't stop me using Steam etc. it simply means that Steam only starts if I click on the Steam engine. And it probably takes a fraction of a second longer! I priortitize a faster PC boot though over having apps "ready to go" - and using PC resources in the process. Its a habit I got into when PCs were less powerful.
Could it help you?
Well you mention error message 500. I had a look in the forums and there was talk of temporary issues, cache issues and other issues. I assume you will have looked as well and tried the how to fix them ideas. And as you are still having them its not down to a tempoary issue on EA's end.
Also a lot of the "solutions" could be fixing "some corrupt system files" - some buit not all which may be why they work for some and not others,
So maybe/
At the end of the day a "clean boot" is something that EA developers can test their games and apps against.
Maybe they also test against common apps and stuff that people have on their PCs as well but once you start adding "some combination" of the vast number of programs. apps, drivers and all the rest that is out there .... the problem I had must have fallen into this categhory. I ran sfc and dism in normal mode with no success!
So how can you do a clean boot
This is the link to the Microsoft site instructions for Windows 11, 10 and 8.1
And this is the first result that came up in Google when I searched "how to perform a clean boot in Windows" that also talks about Windows 7 and even Vista. Other results also came up.
https://www.manageengine.com/patch-management/how-to/perform-clean-boot-in-windows.html
If you have an idea of what you need to do then just type msconfig in the search bar and then run msconfig. The links go into much more detail however.
Final comment. You talked about monitor and keyboard issues when using safe mode.
Basic windows drivers - in theory - should be "good enough" to run them as "basic hardfware". If not though you may need to "enable" one or more specific "services" that normally kick in as soon as you turn your PC on. No idea if this will be the case but just saying as you mentioned issues going into safe mode. If so you will have to track down which services (internet search, trial and error ...?) Should still be worth doing though as even a clean boot with some extra services for your keyboard and monitor (if needed) would be cleaner than normal.
Hope you find a fix. From experience these things are frustrating.
@4997a0ababa2ca0bNo,no, no. You've got it wrong. My bios & something weird about my PCI-Express card make me have to use the original keyboard and a monitor that isn't the one I typically use from Dell. Having to take that express card out, too. I just didn't get into all the details. Doing a clean-boot or going into safe-mode still requires me to do the keyboard, monitor, PCI-express card things.
I'm very familiar with my computer and do know of all the pieces you speak of. I've had it since 2013. Thing is, I don't have time for this. I'm trying to save my computer right now, because my RAID-0 drives are going out. I have much bigger fish to fry than trouble-shoot for EA. The fact they don't know how to do that anymore speaks volumes to me. I used to do software tech support, and I'm a former software consultant & PC expert. They are incompetent.
So, none of the things you mentioned appeal to me or supersede what's on my plate. Games are not a priority and I shouldn't have to do all this to get that blasted EA App to work. Too many complaints on this board to think it's merely our computers and not their lack of QA'ing that app for different configurations.
These are just my thoughts, and after dealing with tech support about this, I'm more convinced than ever that EA blew it replacing Origin with this piece of junk. My configuration had NO problems with Origin.

First I got the inst-21-577 error, which was solved by running the installer as admin. Then I instead got the inst-21-32 error.
"I'm A dEVelOper dERP DeRp I cAN wRiTE suCh gOOd cODE!!1!"
How some people working as developers today have the stomach to call themselves developers is provocative. CHANGE JOB FIELD! I sincerely look forward to pseudo developers becoming unemployed in droves because of AI.

I solved the problem, I changed my password forty times before I solved it, deleted and uploaded it or searched youtube videos. but there was no solution. The real solution will be to log in with the e-mail address we first connected to the damn steam and ea account. To find this, it will be to make the steam connection from the import friend section at the bottom right of the ea application. If it is okay, it will direct you to the internet browser. I realized that I had connected the e-mail address, I was lucky because I remembered the password of the e-mail address. I realized that ea left us alone here, I will be careful not to have EA when buying a game from now on, because they do not give any explanation or answer about this damn subject anyway, I hope your problem is solved, I wish you a good day.

@Ajjemen it'll never happen. The executives don't care, as long as they're not paying them like they used to. They care about their bottom line, not our experience as gamers.
@qoeahwounxyo I no longer have access to emails I had when I first experienced the Origin or EA Apps. I even changed my email over on Steam, but don't use that interface for EA games. Lucky for you.
I entered a BBB complaint about this, because I have spent over $1k here on EA, and they're screwing us out of everything here by not fixing this thing. I had one tech tell me to contact Microsoft. TF do they have to do with this? These techs are allowed to be as rude as they wanna be, because most of them aren't in the U.S. Even if they were, you can't identify them anymore, and nobody cares anyway.I got it to install, it stopped showing error 500, but I can't see any of my games. This has been going on since March, and I just want my money back and never to deal with EA again.

I'm trying to download the EA app on my PC, and it will not install. I keep getting a INST 14-126 Error, and it tells me to report it to the droids. Do you have any Idea what this error code is? I wrote the Help center, and they weren't much help. I can't play my games at all! It's been a couple of months already and I have spent almost 1k on these games. It's Frustrating. If you know, a reply would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@HavingFun7243 Yeah, tech support is rather useless. I haven't been able to play mine for several months because they don't know what the problem is. I got the dang thing to install, but now the app won't show my library. I saw it once, but downloading a game wasn't doing anything. They just don't know what they're doing without engineers getting involved.
If you follow much of the information in here, it may work for you. It got me past one problem only to hit another. SMHThey prefer me to mess around with these people indeterminately instead of giving me my money back. I filed a BBB report, and they're dragging their feet as usual. Other reports too. Capitalism has become a nightmare.

Did you ever find a fix for this?

Yes, without tech support having any idea what these error codes are, you'll have to do trial and error. THEY SHOULD KNOW THEM! Have you installed using Administrator privileges? Right-click on the setup file and you'll see the option. Who is asking this? @SeaOfSymphonies or @HavingFun7243? Anyway, try that.

I ran the installer with admin permissions, have since upgraded my RAM to 16 gbs from 8 gbs. No dice. I've submitted another ticket to EA because they marked it as fixed when it very clearly isn't.
- KingRayVeteran3 years agoNew Veteran
@SeaOfSymphonies I complained about them doing that too. Quick to close them because there must be a quota saying they are judged on the number of tickets they close as solved. Crappy system, because there is no marker about closed, NOT solved. They don't want anybody knowing that they have no clue what they're doing.
There is another post in either this one or another one, that has many steps of things to try. One of them got mine to install, but only to run into another problem EA isn't solving. Have left me without being able to play any of my games with my desktop computer ... for months. They could care less.
It was called "New EA app won't install." Looks like they merged it into this one. The solution is in here somewhere, but I tried many things before it finally installed. Make sure to completely uninstall the app before reinstalling it. Pieces left around will just carry over. They're ignoring me now because I asked for my money back from all the games I can't play now. Over $1k, which is a drop in EA's bucket that they can afford.
I was never able to get the EA App to install so there is nothing to uninstall, I even completely removed Origin and all EA related stuff in registry and still the EA app won't install, I've been through all the guides on here, still get the same error while trying to install this damn awful app. I think it's time I just forgot about what games I had and never have anything to do with EA again
- KingRayVeteran3 years agoNew Veteran@Widow3cdo And your O.S. is? I know they're waiting for all products to stop working on my operating system. Talk about predatory capitalism. Forcing people to upgrade or else. If I put it on my laptop, I'll forever be forced to play them there, and that won't do. I see 1984 brewing all over this country.
I hear you. I feel you on this. I have double-digit thousands of hours with one game, and if not for that one, I would also disappear never to return. - 3 years ago
I'm on Windows 11... Just received an Email from an EA representative, explaining how to uninstall and fix a game within the EA App and how to clear cache for app/game when I clearly told them it is the EA App I can't install and that I just want to know what the error code means that I keep getting, while trying to install their app. Is this really hard for them to understand?
BTW if anyone at EA is reading this and want to check what my Error code means that would be great thnx... Error Code: INST-3-1316
- 3 years ago
I found out what my Error Code: INST-3-1316 means, "Product: EA app -- Error 1316. The specified account already exists."
and it doesn't matter how often or when I try to install the app I get that error as well as this error "INSTALLER_ERROR_UNKNOWN = EA app encountered an error during the installation. Try again a bit later."
Finally fixed my issue using a troubleshooter you can download here from Microsoft Fix problems that block programs from being installed or removed - Microsoft Support it works on windows 11 also.
