EA App won't launch

I just started having the same issue. 

Had this issue for 5 days now. I can't play any EA games. EA pls don't use this **bleep**ty launcher next time

Just a heads-up—Origin for Windows PC has been officially retired for quite some time now, so I’m not entirely sure how you managed to get a working copy of it. You might be referring to Origin for Mac, which is indeed being sunset in the next few days.

If you still have an old (and now unofficial) version of Origin installed on your system, I strongly recommend fully uninstalling it—including any leftover files—before troubleshooting anything EA app-related. The same goes if you somehow have both Origin and the EA app installed side by side.

To properly remove everything, I suggest using Revo Uninstaller Free, and following the steps outlined here (just apply them to Origin):

Once both Origin and the EA app are fully uninstalled, download a fresh copy of the EA app for Windows from:

Install it and see if the issue persists.

This problem persisted before I installed the older version of Origin, I had to resort to installing Origin to test if it was just the EA App that was not working. The Origin app was already uninstalled completely before I wrote this ticket, so I'm already at that point. I still cannot access my games because of this. The fact that an old (and now unofficial) app works far better than the official supported app (which doesn't work at all) is extremely frustrating. I'm strongly considering not buying any games from EA moving forward because of this. Just to add, the EA games I own on Steam (a 3rd party app) also work perfectly fine as well (I only bought games on EA App/Origin since they were exclusively on this platform alone when purchased) also adds salt to the wound.

hello , i have been having the same issue lately and i uninstalled it and installed it again and followed the guide and did alot of stuff from youtube ( tutorials ) and still nothing worked and it started a few days ago out of the blue please help me fix :)

Alright, Girgburg​. In that case it's recommended to see if you're still having the same issue on a new Windows Administrator account. That was, you can check if perhaps something on your current account prevents the client from launching correctly. You can do this via:

• Open Settings
  • Press Win + I
  • Go to Accounts > Other users (Windows 11)
    or Accounts > Family & other users (Windows 10)
• Add a local user
  • Click Add account
  • Choose "I don’t have this person’s sign-in information"
  • Click "Add a user without a Microsoft account"
• Enter account details
  • Username (e.g., AdminUser)
  • Password and security questions
• Set as administrator
  • After creating the user, go back to Other users
  • Click the user > Change account type
  • Select Administrator > Click OK

EA_Leeuw​, Unfortunately, that did not change anything as well, I still cannot get the EA App to launch. It will show the splash screen and then nothing, even after waiting for minutes. At this point I’m over trying to find a solution; I’m just going to pick up the games I still play on Steam whenever they are on a steep sale.

Oh wait, I can't do that since most of your games on Steam cannot launch without connecting to EA App. I just tested Burnout Paradise which I have on Steam, and yep, it won't launch. So, I really cannot access most of my EA games now. Wow, amazing, thanks EA. Is there any way I can get a refund to all my games that require EA app to launch since I cannot access them at all now? Serious question, this is ridiculous.
