EA application won't let me download any of my games.

I've been having an issue with trying to download any game. I have a M.2 SSD(1 tb) that i mounted on within my boot drive (250gb). The issue is when i change the location, it checks the storage of my boot drive which only has about 30gb available. im assuming that since the m.2 is mounted within the boot drive that it will only ever read the storage of the boot drive. Even though i change the download location to be within that m.2 folder that i mounted. Anyone have a fix for this? I have done a bunch of stuff like reinstalling the EA app within the m.2 as well and that didnt work. The issue is within the way its checking the storage space. Also since it says there is no room it won't let me select next to start the download in the new location.
