I tried downloading Star Wars Squadrons though my Xbox PC app and it redirected me to the EA Beta App. I got this message when trying to download it too.
To fix it, i simply closed my Xbox app and re signed into the EA app and it worked fine. It was probably conflicting

Doesn't seem like this is fixed yet. I still can't download anything. EA desktop is installed but will not let me download anything. I am getting the same errors as everyone else. Why is this issue taking so long to fix. Honestly about ready to get the games from the dark web since EA doesn't want my money anyway.

@daddy2times1085I gave up a long time ago, and just continued using Origin. It's not ideal, but at least I can get EA stuff on Steam these days instead (although I still have to have Origin installed for the Steam versions of some EA games).
That being said, the biggest issue with EA Desktop that I can see thus far is the fact that it gives utterly useless error messages. Perhaps if the error message actually gave some clue what might be preventing installation, the user could fix it themselves rather than waiting years for EA to maybe implement a fix? Not that I expect EA to ever do anything about it. They have the reputation they have for a reason, after all...
Keep in mind of course that when more than one user experiences the same issue, that does not mean that the cause is the same in all cases. It's entirely possible that if they implement a fix for the issue I encountered, it may not fix it for anyone else. All we really know for certain is that we've all seen the same generic error message during installation, and that we were unable to proceed with installation, and as generic as that error message is there's really no way to know if we're all seeing it due to the same reason.
