    Hi there,

If you bought your games on Steam, you still need to use Steam to launch the game.

You can link your EA and Steam accounts by following the steps in this article:  Linking your platform accounts to your EA Account. However, this will not transfer your games from Steam to the EA app, it will create a link between the accounts, which is necessary to launch some EA games that were purchased through Steam.

If your accounts are linked and you're trying to download and play your game directly from Steam and you're having any issues, please let us know.

  • To avoid these kind of problems there is one simple solution, but it seems it's not to everyones liking. Also I've posted similar before:

I stopped linking around 3 years ago as of now. Before that I had a few issues, but mostly OK. Still it was annoying.

What I do now is if I find a game on Steam, that is published by EA, which is always clearly stated on the Steam store page, I simply close Steam, fire up the EA app and purchase directly that way. It removes the "linking," of Steam to EA or Steam to EA app. Not sure the two launchers like each other much!

Anyway, the reason for posting this again is that since then, I have never had any issue launching any game.

    EA app - game.

    rather than:

Steam - link to EA - game.

It completely removes any issues that may be caused by linking, or using two apps for one game.

  • RachelH045 EA_cuervo  For Sims 3, you can register your Steam-provided CD Keys in the EA App, or on the old Sims 3 website (www.thesims3.com or store.thesims3.com) and have it appear in your App game library.  Then the game and DLC would be downloadable just as if you'd bought it directly from EA.

I would suggest using the website rather than the App, as it's more reliable.

I don't play Sims 3, but, that sounds like a really good solution.

I admit the bit about, "can register your Steam-provided CD Keys in the EA App," is something I had no idea about. Hopefully Sims players will read your post.
