Summarize your bug When attempting to launch Sims 4 through epic, it would get stuck on "Please wait while we install the partner application"
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? open the sims 4 through epic
What happens when the bug occurs? probably the process remains stuck and that's why it doesn't actually open EA play
What do you expect to see? the EA play linking accounts menu

When attempting to launch Sims 4 through epic, it would get stuck on "Please wait while we install the partner application". I saw that an admin closed a thread about this without offering a solution, just saying it's "fixed".

What worked for me is this:
1. Go into Task Manager
2. Look for "EA Background Service" and end task
3. Go to epic, start the EA game you wanted and wait
4. A menu from EA play will popup to ask you to link your accounts

After linking your account the game should install/launch automatically.

  • @Embiancee I've been having the same problem but with the new Jedi Survivor game. There have been threads about how to fix it but nothing works for me and I get the same result as the original poster above. since this is also an EA game I hope this is a right place to ask for help
  • @szy-rocks  Have you tried closing the process I mentioned in the above post? If that doesn't work, try reinstalling the EA app.
You can also try launching the linking exe yourself, on the shortcut of EA --> Right Click --> Open file location and try to open as admin the app "Link2EA", added a screenshot of it.

@szy-rocks If those steps do not work, can you please run through the following so we make sure everything is updated?

    Nvidia

    Delete Windows Temp Files

    • Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
    • Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
    • Delete everything it allows you to delete
    • Reboot the PC
    • EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
    • Repair/Verify your game based on which client you are launching from
    • EA App - Repair (My Collection > Tile Dots > Repair)
    • Steam - Verify in your library
    • Run the System File Checker tool then Check for Windows and GPU updates
    • Uninstall VC++ from the control panel
    • Install/Repair your VC++ files for the game (Microsoft VC++ Link)
    • Download and update DirectX

If these do not work, try the following:

@EA_ShepardI've tried all of the above and nothing works. I've reinstalled these apps about 20 times an I still can't install the game at all.

Edit: I have tried installing in two separate PCs and it refuses to work. not sure what to do here..

@szy-rocks i have the same problem know 3 diffirent computers i tried but i cant play any of the ea games on epic games. did you find the solution ?
  • I had this issue with EAFC 24.

I then tried to open my EA application and found I had an outdated version with missing files. Ended up downloading the newest version and logging in, and then re-attempting to install the game from Epic Launcher once again and it finally worked.

Hopefully this helps someone out there 🙂
