Hi, I downloaded the EA app last week to play the sims after a few years of not doing so, and I was able to log in just fine. However, after putting in my details, I have encountered EC: 10005. I have tried literally EVERY SINGLE fix I could find online and on the forum here, but I still have no luck. This must have happened like 100s of times by now, and I'm extremely disappointed. I'm using a fully updated Mac and have deleted and reinstalled the application a good 5 times now. I do have a firewall (MacAfee), but I have granted the EA app access, as well as granting my Mac's firewall full access as well. I have cleared the cache multiple times to no avail, tried submitting a report (but the report encountered an error), tried logging out and back in, tried different networks...
Im honestly just stuck for a solution, so any help would very much be appreciated.
I was having the same problem, which only started a week ago. I also tried the many suggestions I found online, with no effect. My final attempt was to open the Norton 360 app running on my PC and turn off VPN temporarily. With that off I was able to login to EA with no problem. I found this strange, as the VPN has not affected Steam. Each time I attempted to login with the VPN turned on, I could no longer login to EA, so my current action is to turn the VPN off to play on EA, and turn it back on afterward. A bit clunky! I had been opening EA with no problems for several years before this last week.
