Red Alert 3 Download Issue

I purchased C&C ultimate edition years ago. I had to rebuild my system due to a virus and when I tried to download Red Alert 3 the EA App indicated that I did not own this sofware. If anyone has a solution to this issue please post it.

    Hello LunardustCat,

I confirm that I have this same window as in the Post you mentioned (but in French)

I tried all the things listed:
    - Direct installation X 9.0c (August 2008) and verification of the presence of DLLs
    - Windows Update and Driver Check
    - Disable firewall and anti-virus
    - empty the cache via the application and manual deletion of folders
    - Uninstall EA App
    -Installing EA App
    -Launch as administrator

The problem is always the same pop up..

Hello, sorry to hear you're running into this. I took a quick look, and it appears your account does have the entitlement.

Could you let me know whether the pop-up you're seeing is the same as the one discussed in this thread?

If so, you may want to try some of the methods and workarounds shared by other players there:

    • Check DirectX 9.0c Method1: Press Win + R, type dxdiag, and press Enter. In the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, look at the DirectX Version line under the System tab. (Note: This will show your system’s main DirectX version (like DirectX 12 on Windows 10/11), not specifically if DirectX 9.0c is present.)
    • Check DirectX 9.0c Method2: C:\Windows\System32 Look for files named like d3dx9_*.dll (for example, d3dx9_43.dll). If these files exist, DirectX 9.0c components are present.
    • Temporarily disable Antivirus/Firewall
    • Clear the EA App Cache: Use the App Recovery tool in the EA App. Go to top left of EA App then click triple dash > Help > App Recovery
    • Delete Cache Manually: Open the Run dialog (Win + R), type %localappdata%, and press Enter. Delete the EADesktop and Electronic Arts folders.
    • Run EA App as Administrator
    • Reinstall/Uninstall the EA App
    • Update Windows and Drivers

    Hi,

Same problem here: I can see the game in my library, but if I try to install it, the EA app says: I don’t have this software. I have the box for this game, so I’ll try to add this using the serial number; it says "series already used" (oh really, yes because that’s the game I bought and added to my account from EA, formerly Origin, a few years ago!)

It would be interesting for EA to fulfill its end-user license contract by giving access to the game we bought from them, because the more years go by, the less it makes me want to invest in their licenses. I had a similar problem with the command and conquer tiberium war. It was impossible to reinstall it and play there several years later.

We pay a high price for games to have much worse follow-up than that of the small, independent studios.

  • I have the same problem. RA3 works at my desktop but i can't download it to my laptop
