Hello, i bought Need For Speed Unbound from the Epic Games Store, when i try to install the game its trying to open the EA app and it always gives me the same error.

Something went wrong...

I tried to uninstall both apps and install them again, it didnt worked. I tried to delete both apps cache, also no results. Studied all the similar problems on the internet and neither of them solutions helped me.

Please help me with my issue. Thanks

Summarize your bug I recently bought the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor games from Epic Games and when I try to install the game it gives the error "Something went wrong... To continue linking your EA Account, head back and start over." I already changed passwords on EA and Epic Games accounts, cleared launcher apps on both, deleted and re-installed both apps, runned as admin, changed DNS settings, closed anti-virus or any other background apps. Nothing works. What else is there for me to try?

  • I have been trying to link my Epic Games and EA account for over 3 hours now.

I am getting an error saying:

    Something went wrong...
To continue linking your EA Account, head back and start over.

This is really starting to wind me up as I have re-installed both of these apps, cleared their cache and even on a new device as well as a completely different EA account and they are all getting the same error. I saw one forum saying to reset my password as it can be caused by an expired password, this has not helped at all.

To make things worse, EA Support is the absolute worst support I have EVER tried to use. I opened a so called 'Live chat' which is NOT a live chat, but instead a case of posting an issue, them completely ignoring the entire issue that you described and just asking for your name. The only issue is, to reply to this question WILL NOT WORK, my response (which I submitted over 20 times) is not going on to the ticket, again I've tried from 2 PCs, and my mobile (which is on a completely separate network to rule out network issues). I now can no longer open a new ticket, as this just loops back over and over to help.ea.com no matter what I try, again tried on all of my devices and the same thing happens.

After doing some digging in my log files (AppData\Local\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\Logs) and checking 'Link2EA.log' I can see that when the error occurs, I am getting a log of :

WARN (eax::AuthCodeCoordinator::FsmHost::handleLoginPageLoadStatus) Eadp identity auth failed with error number: [105111]

Googling this error returns no results for EA app that are of any use

Just to rule out any sort of browser issues I've tried setting Chrome, Firefox and Edge as my default browsers to test if that helped, which made no change at all.

Now that I am unable to open a new case on the EA website, I went over to the EAHelp account on X, only for the help bot to point be back to square one at the EA help website (which will not work). Looking at these forums there are years worth of forum posts with no clear resolution other than a few basic troubleshooting steps which don't help.

I just made a post with the same issue, hopefully it's an outage thing but I wouldn't hold our breath....

@BarneyGumball17 I remember I linked my EA account (from Origin) with Epic Games before when it gave Star Wars Squadrons free. I am thinking maybe this old link with Origin might be causing problem? I will try to talk to support of EA and Epic to see if I can unlink (if they are linked) my previous Origin-Epic link. I am using the same accounts so even if they are linked they should be working but, maybe when they changed from Origin to EA app they messed things up.. BTW I see no Epic Games - EA links that we can check from both, which is also weird..

I did see that mentioned online but I don't believe that I actually have any other EA accounts other than the 1 that I made fresh to test today, but I'm also the same as you where I checked to see what linked accounts I had (on Epic and EA) and there is no sign of either of them being linkable on the account management side of things, would be a lot easier if we could just link the accounts through that screen

@BarneyGumball17 Just refunded the game, no point, spent a week trying to find a solution but EA does not care, customer support is nothing but a joke.
