Well, I contacted a EA tech online over the Dead Space 2 does not launch. I have attached the transcript and in it is EA does not support this game anymore because it is too old.
I followed the tech advice, and I cannot re-install the game for disc as it will not read it, so now I have lost it. Will now have to wait for the remake, if I am still alive.
I am now finished with EA; will play the games I have until they die as well.
Good luck to everyone try to get this game running, but do not waste your time.

Not the fix I was hoping for, but I just purchased a new copy of Dead Space 2 from my Steam account, and it launches and plays great. Through Steam. If you want to experience the game again this appears to be the only solution. I haven't found any blogs or forums where anyone has had any success getting past EA`s fail to launch error on their side issue. Dead Space 3 works via the EA app, and I haven`t tried my old copy of the Original dead space yet. but everyone is reporting that it works. Must be something to do with the redistribution software embedded in our old original copies that cannot be rewritten or bypassed. It's not the best having to purchase it twice. But it's a hell of a great game. In the UK its priced at £17.99.
As I have listed previously, Dead Space 2 as of today will not launch from the EA platform or the exe. file. I have used my disc which does not work now and tried downloading. Still today I cannot launch the game. I believe EA has taken it off the platform, getting people ready for a new Dead Space 2 version. I am now up to 600 hrs. of playing Dead Space 2023 version on hard.
I would like to continue to 2 and 3, but it's not going to happen. EA have not answered any of the error reports, except the on-line chat I had which is listed. Dead Space 2008, Dead Space 3 work, but not 2, and it has been over a year now and EA will not give answers or fix the game.
I do not even look at any of their games anymore, EA's is losing it's Dead Space customers.
Is your first game working? Because that isn't working either. It's been a month since I've had it on steam and i can't even refund it. They need to get this working
Dead Space (2008) works, Dead Space (2023) works, Dead Space 3 (2013) works, only Dead Space 2 (2011) does not work. As you can see from the dates it is the middle one that will not work. I have downloaded Dead Space 2 a number of times from EA platform and it still does not work. I have given up trying to get it going and EA support is useless in having our game fixed. As stated in my previous tweets, Dead Space 2 has been removed from their servers, so no one can play it. Why have they not removed Dead Space 2008 as they have replaced it with 2023.
Either forget about using or playing EA games or just wait for the future Dead Space 2 to be released, might not be in my life-time.
