Very Bad EA App Launcher

Dear EA Support Team,

I am writing to express my frustration with the EA Launcher, which has consistently failed to launch a single game for me. Despite repeated attempts to troubleshoot and reinstall the launcher, it continues to malfunction, making it nearly impossible to enjoy any of the games I've purchased through your platform.

This issue has persisted for far too long, and I am at my wit's end. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with a product that simply doesn't work as intended. I have also encountered countless error messages and slow updates, making the experience even more aggravating.

At this point, I believe the EA Launcher needs to be completely overhauled or, preferably, removed altogether. If you cannot fix these ongoing issues, I suggest allowing games purchased through EA to be launched via Steam instead. Steam's launcher works seamlessly, and it would be a far more reliable platform for accessing EA games.

Please address this issue as soon as possible. It's unacceptable to spend money on games that I can't even play due to a broken launcher.

I look forward to hearing from you regarding a resolution to this problem.

Sincerely,

Scaly Pride

And the same here... Even the launcher didn't "launch" properly and only showed a blue rectangle. When it finally showed something the only game I have on EA (and will have given I've this issue has occurred almost daily for the 10 to 12 days since I installed the app) does not run and just shows a popup saying it's something on their end and to try a little later, for about the last 14 hours.

  • Same here. People have been reporting this for a couple of years now. Nothing done by EA to fix this. By ignoring this problem, they're basically saying "We don't care if you can't play your games, we already have your money"...

    Hi Scaly_Pride and others,

If you're running into issues with the EA app on your device, I’d recommend checking out the [INFO/GUIDE] Index - Troubleshooting the EA app | EA Forums - 11894375. It covers common problems and solutions.

A good first step is to try repairing the client. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, please provide the details we typically request, such as your EA app Error Reporter ID and EA app logs.

It would also be really helpful if you could share more about your system. For example, are you using a Windows PC or a Mac? What’s the operating system and version? Details like these, along with anything else that might help narrow down the cause, make troubleshooting much more effective, since every case can be a bit different.

I completely understand that dealing with technical issues is frustrating. However, posts that only say things like “Please fix this” or “Address this ASAP” unfortunately aren’t actionable and won’t help move things forward.

    Thanks for understanding.

I guess you are right. At least it was only a little over 5$ for the full Mass Effect trilogy.
Won't be buying anything else that says AE unless it's DRM-free at GOG.
I know it's short of a miracle, but if Sony/XBOX's done it...

I understand there's no way for you to know beforehand, but before posting I (and most likely 99% of players with issues) have already repaired, reinstalled, rebooted and done all the non-solutions usually advised for common problems, because it's the usual "it's your fault, user" answer given to any issue by almost any service provider; this part is not an EA only thing.

What is an EA only thing is that all other games with or without launchers work just fine and launch without issues.
For whatever reason, your launcher app just doesn't work. It's not the game I want to play itself; from time to time launches and runs great, but most of the time it's not that it crashes... it doesn't even get to try to start the "hub launcher" to select which part of the trilogy one would like to play. If I could play the game I bought offline I would not care, but online is mandatory despite it being a single player game. That's just scummy (from EA, not you personally).

I've played a couple games I got for free through the EGS a few years back, when only registration, and no app, was necessary and they worked fine; but as I said, I'm glad I've given EA very little money to have such bad experience within and along the first 10-12 days using the app.

The software is a joke - it's worse than bloatware. I've dumped my time debugging it over the past couple days and have decided to vent here before uninstalling for good.

Picked up Battlefield 1 from the Steam Summer Sales and was able to launch it once out of 50 some attempts (with repairing, reinstalling, sfc scans, cache clearing, reboots, etc.). I am also unable to recreate that one successful launch no matter what I do (and I'm testing the EA Launcher in isolation - not trying to launch the game or through steam).

As far as I can tell the launcher has been riddled with issues for years and people have chanced upon pseudo-solutions. Not worth wasting time over.

  • same!! installer download ea app incorrectly and I always get error 104 no matter what I do! For some reason there is no ea app in startup

  • can you help me solve error 104? I have already updated and repaired, reinstalled Ea app several times, nothing helped. I just want to play sims 4, what the hell Electonic Arts?

  • I have recently started experiencing immediate crashing on the ea app upon opening. I have just fixed my issue so I figure this might help others. Ensure api.iterable.com is not being blocked by your dns proxy (In my case Adguard was blocking the url). This was definitely a recent addition in either the Adguard blocklist or the EA app as this wasnt an issue 2 months ago.
