When linking Xbox and EA the wrong account gets linked

Summarize your bug When linking my Xbox account and my EA account the EA play from the Xbox account doesn't link because my "store" and "gaming account"'s differ in the Xbox app.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Before linking the accounts change the store account in the Xbox app.
What happens when the bug occurs? I can't access EA Play games.
What do you expect to see? I would assume that the "store account" should be linked instead of the "gaming" one because all the transactions in the Xbox app are using the store and not the "gaming account"
Is there a way to properly link the accounts?
This is something Microsoft support will need to assist with. You should be able to get in touch with them through www.xbox.com.
