I have logged into the EA App and attempted to download BF3 which the app clearly states I own. I have owned the since 2011.
The only language option is Russian.
When I attempt to download the game, EA App displays a message stating the download has stopped as I don't own it.
I suspect this was a migration issue from when they transferred my data from my Origins account to my EA App account as this is the only logical conclusion I can make. There is no other evidence to support who the App states I own the game yet I can't download it.
EA Support, can you please look into my account and try to resolve this?
A bit of a back story first. I originally purchased the game in DVD form which I still have (see photos below). As time went on, I purchased the extended games (End Game, Aftermath etc) through Origins. My purchasing history should reflect this. I have a theory....
When the transition happened from Origins to EA App, it recognized I had the game but glitches because I had purchased the game via DVD, not through the Origin store at the time. This would explain why EA App knows I have the game but I can't download it because I didn't purchase the original game though the Origin/EA App store. Purchasing the original game through the EA App doesn't work as it recognizes I already have the game. My purchasing history should reflect this as well. I also tried to install the game from DVD again but that didn't work because it tries to install Origins first and it errors because Origins can't update due to it no longer existing.
Right... with that theory in mind, this is what I am experiencing....
Here is my EA App for BF3 which shows achievements I did 10 years ago.. I click on 'Download'....
I get this pop-up and can only select 'Russian' as the language, no other language option is available. I click 'Download'...
I see it has started the process of attempting to download. I go to my Download manager and it stays like this for about 10 seconds...
Then I get this message pop up telling me I don't own the game, when I do.
I think it could be the fact that I have the DVD version of the original game and it known I own the game but thinks I don't at the same time.
How do I resolve issue? I have tried to look for other forums that talk about this exact same issue but non of them seem to find a suitable resolution. That said, I don't recall any of them mentioning how they obtained their original copy of the game. I am hoping this goes someway to help EA in providing a solution for this.
