Hacker Linked to my XBox
I need help from someone outside of live chat and EA Support. I have seen other community discussions and people say they do not have control over EA accounts here, but at this time I am starting to wonder if anyone does at EA.
My XBOX account was hacked back in 2024. When it was hacked, the person purchased items on my account. I found out really quickly, changed passwords, etc. and then had XBOX cancel the purchases. I thought my ordeal was over until yesterday when I tried to play Battlefield 6. I was greeted to a message saying that my account was banned. I was very surprised as I didn't think I had an EA account linked. I go to check and see what is happening and find that an email address that I do not own or know nothing about is linked to my XBOX account. Digging further, it all connects and I see that the hacker from 2024 linked their account to mine to make those purchases in. This is where I start learning about how much this type of thing happens with EA.
I went through EA support, filed a ticket, started a live chat, and everything went downhill from there. I have spent hours attempting to get help. So many people I have spoken to and every single one comes to the same conclusion. They expect me to verify my ownership of the EA account linked to my XBOX account. At this point for those reading, I hope you have followed my logic, because no one at EA customer service has. How can I verify an account that I do not own as it is the hackers email account? I even thought sometimes they meant "my" EA account, but no, they really meant the hacker's account. Between constantly going over the same script, them telling me they have no authority except to verify the account, being dropped constantly, etc., etc., etc. I guess I shouldn't be surprised this is how EA customer service works, but I really am.
Talking to XBOX, they say they have no control over this. It is all on EA's side. They did suggest to ask to be escalated to "EA Terms of Service or Account‑Specialist team", but the agent would always say they are the highest authority and no one will be able to do anything else as that is their "policy". Oh, and don't forget, "Trust them, they are trying to help". At least XBOX did give me a number to call directly for EA which I will be trying tomorrow during business hours, but I don't have high hopes. I have kept every transcript and every name in hopes that I can do something about that at least.
Any help or direction would be appreciated. After hours upon hours of talking to EA customer service, I have gotten nowhere. How is one supposed to prove ownership of a hacker's EA account to have it removed? Shouldn't EA just have the ability to drop an account and force a person to reconnected if it truly is theirs?
