No Administrative EA Support
I’m posting here out of frustration after exhausting all available support options with EA.
I recently had an issue where my Steam account was accidentally linked to the wrong EA account . This only happened because my primary EA account had been hacked at the time. That account has since been fully recovered, and now I’m simply trying to restore things back to how they were originally—by unlinking the incorrect account and relinking the correct one.
Unfortunately, EA Live Chat support has told me there is absolutely nothing they can do due to a strict 6-month unlinking restriction. Even more frustrating, they stated they don’t have the authority to escalate or override this policy. So essentially, there is no administrative path to resolve what is clearly an accidental situation.
What makes this worse is that there was no clear warning during the linking process indicating that this action would lock the account for six months. If that had been clearly communicated, I would have never proceeded.
It’s hard to understand how a company of EA’s size can have no mechanism for administrative intervention in cases like this, especially when account security issues (like hacking) are involved. Policies like this don’t just create inconvenience; they damage trust and push customers away.
Has anyone else run into this issue? Were you able to find any workaround or escalation path? If not, I really think EA needs to take a serious look at this policy and the lack of support flexibility behind it.
At the very least, there should be:
A clear warning before linking accounts about the 6-month restriction.
An escalation path for verified cases involving compromised accounts.
Administrative support capable of resolving edge cases like this.
Right now, it feels like customers are left completely stuck with no real support, which is honestly unacceptable.
Hi there. I'm very sorry to say, we're not able to help with this over the EA Forums. Only an advisor is able to make this change. However, like they mentioned, this can only be done once every 6 months. Unfortunately, we don't have any other options for bypassing this requirement.
