Controller handling is a downgrade.

if you are going to make handling sim-like and catered towards wheel users, give me the option to bypass handling filters like the smoothness so I can do microcorrections mid-corner while maintaining speed. with this stupid simlike handling and filtered handling, i either go straight when I correct or have to accept i took a suboptimal line and lose tenths.

did fanatec give you the big bucks to make the handling so bad for pad users so they buy a fanatec wheel or did you forget most of ur users are pad? i refuse to believe this was made by the F1 23 team which was a decent handling on pad (only becus 22 was a massive letdown). I am glad i bought it off the cdkeys for more than half the atrocious price.

The game was going a really good direction, I love the building the car and team in the team creator. My one complaint was the AI straight line speed. With the latest update playing on controller is impossible for me, when I was previously playing on 103. The car now understeers like crazy and I thought I was crazy. I went through and played with settings and setups and they're all just awful. As others are saying, this is now sim racing catered and can be compared to AC, automobilista, and others. I dont understand how its so hard to fix such a small thing. Ive honestly lost interest in the game seeing as every time I play it its broken and just serves to frustrate rather than entertain and have a nice race after work.

  • I've been asking for better controller support for years, Codemasters/EA doesn't care about controller players.

Back in F1 2012/2013 there was an option to disable all the controller filters/dampers, enable raw input and fine tune from there, which would result in very responsive steering and make it possible to make quick micro corrections.

However with the current engine they're using if you play with controller there are filters/dampers that are automatically applied and cannot be turned off, they slow down inputs and make controls less responsive. Those filters/dampers are great for people with sloppy inputs and/or people who use tap steering, but for people that use precision steering they're nightmare since it's impossible to make quick small corrections.

But again, I've complained about this for 10 years in the official forums but Codemasters never did anything to improve it, never included the option to disable all the filters/dampers, so we're forced to deal with the forced-on filters/dampers that slow down inputs and make controls less responsive.

  • I am speaking about the accessibility. It has limited rotation and if the handling gets realistic year by year the pad accessibility will eventually be terribly outdate like the F1 22 version. I am talking about initial turn in responsiveness, it is so terribly so unless you flick instantly left to right as opposed to straight to left or right, (Maggots and becketts for example, easy turns cus you r going left and right) however, say Monza turn 1  or something like that, turn in is slow. I could up the saturation, although its difficult to keep the car in straight line.

For me and the large majority of controller players the handling this year in F125 is a scismic improvement over F124 which was atrocious for most pad players.

I absolutely love how the car feels in F125 on a controller. Just feels so natural to drive, great smoothness too.

Probably my favourite handling model along with F123.

  • even assetto corsa has more accessibility than this supposed controller friendly game. i can enjoy driving different cars with  carefree cus when it turns, it turns, thanks to the bypassing options they have. U somehow, as a simarcade game, still suck at this aspect. how is a full on sim have  a better controller accessilibity than your simcade game. I dont understand why u cannot give us the option to bypass it. It is not like your physics engine is too advanced for the controllers to drive.

  • It understeers like crazy, even with firm suspension to reduce sliding forward its still a disgrace. its not even a setup thing. its ur handling model thing. it varies so much from track to track, on the track where controller are friendly like australia, my tt is within a second of the fastest person in the leaderboard, but in tracks like japan where every corner needs precise steering, thats where it falters, and thats just in tt, with unlimited grip, i cant imaging how terrible it will be with aging tyres and dirty air.

this is a massive letdown from 24 where the handling for me was the prime.
