Essential MUST-HAVE Fixes for F1 26 DLC
Hey!
As a very experienced F1 gamer and long time fan of the EA F1 series, I feel almost obligated to point out and suggest a few things that EA simply cannot ignore for a successful F1 26 DLC. Feel free to add any other ideas you have in the comment section.
1 LITTLE DETAILS MATTER (THE ALPINE LOGO IN 2025 IS BLUE AND NOT WHITE!)
One thing I reported even before the release of F1 25 was that Alpine changed the colour of their team logo from 2024 (white) to 2025 (blue). I reported it multiple times, even DM´d moderators about it. For Williams, you managed to fix the colour change from blue to white (thanks to my report). It´s hard to believe that you have a whole year to develop a new game, yet can´t manage to update the colour of a simple logo. These are small details that are not difficult to fix, but are extremely annoying when they´re wrong. So please take your time to get the basics right before moving on to the bigger things.
2 FULL LEADERBOARD SHOWING ALL DRIVERS/BETTER UI
Also not particularly difficult, but it would do thousands of players a huge favor. More realism, more options and players wouldn´t have to rely on hobby modders paying monthly fees to do the work you should be doing. A simple Win-Win situation.
3 DRIVER/TEAM EDITOR
If any of the developers or operators at EA F1 are reading this thread, could you please explain why this isn´t a feature yet? We already have it in EA FC and other EA sports games, but not in F1! We literally had to wait six months just to swap Doohan with Colapinto. Adding this feature would bring so much more variety to F1, allowing players to freely transfer drivers before and during a career as they wish. Right now, the AI´s driver changes are predictable and boring in 8 out of 10 cases, which really limits the experience.
4 MOST IMPORTANT: IMPROVE THE AI
If there is one single thing you are allowed to change, it has to be this. Have you ever asked yourselves why almost all F1 content creators only produce career mode videos for the first two or three months after a new F1 game releases? Because it becomes boring. Because nothing truly changes. And I am not talking about live content or a lack of game modes. The game becomes boring because races are predictable. The AI drives fixed lines, every driver behaves the same and there are almost no mistakes under pressure - or mistakes at all.
I have played every F1 game since F1 2017 and I have virtually never seen a real AI crash where two or more cars fly off the track. Maybe once in over 5,000 races there was a minor AI collision at the start. That is not realistic! In real Formula 1, incidents at the start happen in at least every third race.
A DLC should focus entirely on improving AI behaviour instead of adding new modes no one asked for. Features like driver personalities, more realistic defending, occasional errors and AI crashes are urgently needed to create unpredictable, engaging races. This would allow players to stay invested for months instead of losing interest after a few weeks, while also laying a crucial foundation for F1 27 and generating real excitement for the new era of the F1 games.
5 EXTRAS
As I already said, the AI has to be the main thing for the F1 26 DLC in my eyes so I don´t expect any other things. But here you have some ideas for the F1 27 game that honestly should have been in the game for a long time already:
-> Custom Race Calendar
-> Better AI for Monaco (I play against 105 AI every track but at Monaco I can easily win against 110)
-> Historical Race Tracks (Hockenheim, Portimao, Turkiye and DO NOT DELETE IMOLA!)
-> More drivers for career mode (Vettel, Magnussen, Latifi...)
