Get to Online advance screen and then can’t press advance

I’m in Rivals or Champions and when it matches with an opponent it no longer lets me advance. I stay on the advance screen where I pick my home/away kit and can’t advance or even go back. I have to wait for the timer to finish to finally press A and get out of the screen. It’s been like this all day
