What is the state of this game? EA FC

As a long time player of the FIFA series, I’ve become increasingly frustrated with the direction EA FC has taken. The power curve feels out of control new cards are introduced so frequently that previous ones become obsolete almost immediately, and the stat inflation makes every team feel the same. The gameplay has become robotic, with no room for creativity or real football anymore. Every match feels like an AI battle, and it’s more about exploiting mechanics than using actual skill and football IQ. I really miss the older FIFA games like FIFA 16 or 17, when the game was more balanced and tactical. The gameplay was slower, players felt unique, and it rewarded actual footballing decisions and fewer promos just TOTW, FUTMAS, TOTY and TOTS  and dont forget the legend cards. FIFA felt like a true football experience controlled, tactical, and skill based. Now, EA FC 24 feels more like an overpowered arcade game than actual football. I’m hoping EA takes this feedback seriously and considers returning to the roots of what made earlier FIFA games so great.

  • We had more balance at the start of the year. Every patch nerfs defense and buffs offense. Pace is out of control after the patches along with ping pong passing. Ea should force manual offense.

There is just way to many evos sbcs promos rewards and trading. Someone said they did 1000 sbcs the other day.  All this does is devalue all the cards making them discard. We really need less sbcs less promos less rewards and bring back bid tokens to slow the market down.

The problem is people want more. 1000 sbcs is not enough weekly promos are not enough. People like easy offense and high scoring games. While I don’t like the path ea is going it’s just them listening to the community.

RadioShaqs I'm inclined to agree that less is more in this case, rewards for actually playing the game are a drop in the ocean compared to the sheer amount of packs you have to open to get anything useful.

I also preferred it when there were very few promos and very little fomo, the gameplay was better, with more and more promos every year the gameplay has been falling off a cliff earlier and earlier.

It's actually exhausting trying to keep up with the curve, more time spent in the menu than actually playing the game.

And regarding the 1000 sbc, nobody wants more sbc's, it's that at the moment this is the sort of effort required to have even a small chance at getting a good high end card due to the pack weight.

  • People want more sbcs. At the start of the year people already want league sbcs. Why people like grinding the menu more than the game I will never know. Don’t get me wrong when I started trading was fun and rewarding but it was never on this level of investment.

The problem with everyone wanting more it has the opposite of effect that people actually want. If you do 2000 sbcs that will just mean the cards are even worth less.

If ea did away with sbcs or limit them to like 5 a week this would actually make cards have value and people would be able to upgrade.

The problem is people will not be ok with doing away with sbcs to save the market.

You said the other day you hadn’t played in months. How do you know any of what you have said about recent patches and current gameplay?

  • The game is very weird.

I don't think that a american company are able to make a good football game. Because they don't know the sport. Football (the game you play with your feets) is not in their souls. They should stick to american football, hockey, baseball, basketball. Sports that they know about..

  • I explained that in the other thread. I play rush here in there as I still enjoy it even though I don’t enjoy the gameplay. Without the ai it doesn’t seem all that bad and it’s just a casual fun mode. More times than not teammates are terrible but it is what it is. I played enough after the refresh to see what it was like. I don’t know the exact date I haven’t been playing but yeah I got on and played a couple rivals or squad battles after a patch to test it. I don’t really count that as playing as I’ve got no reward or whatever is the bronze rank for squad battles. Rivals I haven’t even made the lower rewards what is it 7 wins for around two months.

Thats why I asked the other user I forget his name what he thought about the most recent patch. As he might have more experience than I have as I haven’t put in the hours like I have pre refresh and post refresh. The refresh patch ruined the balance.

He said he had all that delay ect like you do and has no idea about actual gameplay or patches so I suggested he and you use the thread below.

I don’t doubt you have terrible gameplay. I don’t know how many times I have to tell you I don’t work for ea. I can’t fix your connection issues. Ea is literally going over everyone’s connections and videos in that thread. I can’t help if you or the other user don’t report it there is nothing I can do. I can link you the thread and try to help you but that’s it.

It’s ea that is being transparent and communicating with the communty on the issue. If they are seeing huge packet loss and it’s on your end. There is nothing I can do.

I hope you can fix it. Although the gameplay isn’t that great as I’ve said I have no connection issues but don’t like the path ea is taking gameplay or the market.

  • What sucks is there is just no way they'll ever go back to those glory days. They make a lot more money with tons of promos, even if it means destroying the market in the process and devaluing every promo card with new ones. We've also asked about why every promo it seems like the same players are being selected for promo cards!

Promos are not the issue here, the issue is the players they decide to give promo cards to! They can definitely do a promo every weekend and have it be viable, simply by have cards hold on to promo versions longer -- same with SBC's. The sad part is they won't. That's why I myself don't see the point in taking this game seriously. I play this game extremely casually compared to previous years because any work I've put in to build my team just ends up becoming worse the following week -- when a new promo drops featuring the exact same players from the last promo! Lol

  • If they stopped the promos for more poplar leagues and nations that would also help. They have to stop the race of unlimited sbcs to devalue cards.  The problem is like you said the old days are over.  People like this and so does ea.
