I'm on Virgin Media too, have had the same issues as you took time to get them to do anything after explaining to them others are saying the same. Even told them about one person I saw who was on mobile hotspot and it worked fine then when switching back to VM issues started again. Anyhow this is what I got from them talking to them on X...
Thank you for letting us know. We understand that multiple users have shared similar concerns, suggesting that the problem might be specific to our network. We've raised the issue to our relevant team, and they'll resolved it as early as possible.
