Career Difficulty Level doesn’t work, all are very easy.

This will hopefully make the AI more challenging en engaging to play against.

I’ve gone back to FC 25, this game is an absolute disgrace, absolutely nothing is working.

This is embarrassing from a multibillion dollar company. 

thanks for this little summary, you've articulated what I wanted to say, it's been two and a half months and they still haven't fixed this problem it's genuinely embarrassing.

May I add that defensively the CPU is terrible also.

I agree with this... game is broken... FIX THIS!!

Ultimate and Legendary difficulty are way too easy both on Authentic and Competitive mode. Authentic mode difficulty is especially bugged, but even the Competitive. For comparison, playing on Legendary in FC 25 on competitive was great, I would win some, I would lose some, but now on FC 26 on Ultimate I win all the time. And don’t get me started talking about the Authentic mode, where on Ultimate difficulty I beat Man City 8-0 and I am playing with Wolverhampton. It’s extremely bugged and letdown, as I only play Career Mode, I don’t play Online and it ruins everything. PLEASE FIX

As of November 1, 2025, the game's difficulty balance in FC 26 remains a significant point of concern for many players, particularly in offline modes like Career Mode and Squad Battles. 

While EA has released a major patch (v1.1.0) with various gameplay adjustments, including empowering manual defending and improving goalkeeper logic, community feedback indicates that the core issue of the CPU AI being too passive on higher difficulties (Legendary and Ultimate) has not been fixed. 

Key issues and status:

• CPU AI Passivity: Many players report that even on the highest difficulty settings, the AI rarely attacks and frequently passes the ball around the back without intent, leading to easy wins and a lack of challenge in Career Mode.
• Patches have addressed other issues: The v1.1.0 update focused on other areas like refining manual defending, fixing the "kick-off glitch," and making through passes less assisted.
• No specific AI attacking fix yet: There has not been a specific patch to address the fundamental lack of attacking intent from the CPU AI in offline modes.
• Workarounds: Some players are attempting to use custom sliders to make the game more challenging and realistic, but official fixes are still being awaited. 

In short, players are still waiting for a dedicated fix for the AI difficulty issues in FC 26.

I won the league with Bournemouth in my first season

They are making the most money from ultimate team, so why even bother. After 16 years of playing fifa/fc every single year, this is the worst game for career mode players. They are selling something that is broken and they don’t even care. I’m just sad😔.

I have the same issue. I am looking on the internet for anyone who may have found slider settings to make the game more challenging but which ever settings I use, it is just too easy
