I’ve played GK in Clubs for years too. Yes, FC 26 changed a lot and some of it hurts, but most of what you call broken is actually how the new system works. As LucasAMC himself pointed out, many frustrations are real but also come from misunderstanding the new logic. Input lag will always make close shots feel unfair online because bots don’t suffer latency. The removal of hidden assists now makes GK truly manual, which means if you are even one frame late you get punished. Animations are not random either: they only unlock if the stat is high enough. If your attributes are sitting on yellow or orange, the game will never give you advanced saves.
The logic is simple. Red 0–49 means the engine won’t trigger advanced animations at all. Orange 50–69 means animations exist but come out slow and broken. Yellow 70–79 means inconsistent and not prioritized. Green 80+ means strong and reliable, with the full pool of animations unlocked and prioritized. In older FIFA titles you could survive by maxing GK attributes plus Reflexes, with everything else being cosmetic. In FC 26 this no longer works, because every attribute contributes. If one stays yellow the engine cuts animation options. If everything is green you get consistency, variety, and even rare saves.
That’s why the solution is not to say GK is broken, but to adapt. Distribute points laterally so that all core stats sit on green instead of stacking reflexes and leaving the rest behind. PlayStyles are powerful, but only if the stats behind them are also green. You need to anticipate earlier on crosses because Triangle/Y no longer has the old assist. And yes, sometimes you will concede goals you cannot stop because of server latency, but that is by design. EA didn’t kill human goalkeepers, they removed the crutches. Manual GK is now skill plus build dependent. I will also be sharing my current AP distribution so people can see what a properly balanced build looks like. The same logic works for both Shot Stopper and Sweeper Keeper archetypes, and it is worth testing before calling the system the worst ever.

Dude, the keeper system is literally broken, there is absolutely no point defending it... I have played the keeper position since fifa 2015, and the things that has always been a problem have been inconsistent button triggers detected, no button trigger registered at all, wrong animations triggered, positioning problems, keeper randomly rushing ball uncontrollably and last but not least not beeing able to call for the ball inside the box, and if you try to call it when a free kick is happening, you can't move... Ea needs to ditch the right stick to save the ball bull crap, cause they haven't been able to fix it for 10 years... The Ai keeper always outperformce human keepers with the right stick... If you try to save with the stick, sometimes the game either doesn't detect the input, or it detects the wrong one because of sensitivity issues. I hope they ditch it, and make it just button triggers, square for left and circle for right for example. It should be a big reward for playing and mastering the keeper position, not punishing like it is this year. I really hope they just revert it to last years controls, or make an option to toggle legacy keeper controls. Atleast last year and every fifa before this one was manageable and adaptable to play with...
