Authentic online?
I would like to know if “authentic” will be an option for online Seasons? I have been wanting a more realistic gameplay for years and I don’t like to play the CPU.

Also to your point blue I wouldn’t think they will make defense better. So far every patch has nerfed defense and offense has been buffed. 26 going more arcade will likely do the same. As you said we will likely go into double digit scores.
Defense in FC 25, especially on the new-gen version, is very strong, and the AI has always done everything on behalf of the players.
In addition, there were issues — like how speed boosts for attackers were reduced at the start of the game, and then defender speed was increased to the point where even the slowest defender could catch up to the fastest attacker. That’s what we saw in FC 25.
Even interceptions and blocks to stop shots happened automatically without any player input — and yet you’re still talking about realism?
What we saw in FC 25 doesn’t reflect the actual skill level of players, whether in attack or defense, because the game was poorly designed.
But now, FC 26 seems very promising. If you want to call it arcade, then yes — it looks like arcade might be far better than the fake "realism" you keep talking about, which doesn’t reflect any real player skill.
It’s more that defense can’t counter it. Think about when Anders just did step overs. He did this knowing that eventually he will glitch past the defenders. This is also what you do with more pace and ping pong passing.
It’s not about actually breaking down the defense with actual tactics and skill. It’s about playing the odds. Sure you might fail maybe 50 percent of the time or whatever but the other 50 you glitch past the defenders.
It’s just like lby years. People knew what you were doing it’s just you can’t always stop it.
It should actually be the defender picked wrong or guessed you was going to do something different. Not the person defending knew you was going to spam 400 step overs but eventually you will just jam your way through.
Although the more I think about people like that gameplay and why ea is going to do it.

You said it yourself — it's 50/50.
Sometimes the defender gets lucky, and sometimes the attacker does. That’s normal.
And by the way, you're talking about skill moves — so why don’t you mention long balls too?
In real matches, we see that balls played behind defenders are very difficult to deal with, and attackers often get to them. But in FC 25, all long balls — especially long through balls — are always weak and easily picked off by defenders.
Why don’t you talk about that as a glitch that defenders are also benefiting from?
Everything that is broken and abused is on the offensive side. Anything that is useful on defense is nerfed into the ground. If games ended 0-0 yeah sure nerf defense but we are borderline into double digits now.
It shouldn’t be like sure you can defend it sometimes sometimes not so it’s fine. It should be like rock paper scissors. The defender guessed wrong so offense succeeded.
Not offense just did the same thing over and over again knowing defense will eventually not be able to stop it. Defense also knew and defended it right but you know sometimes it still doesn’t work.

Alright, in the end, I don’t have a problem with it.
I don’t want defense to be overpowered, and I don’t want offense to be overpowered either. I just want everything to depend on the player’s own skill, whether in defending or attacking — so that when a goal is scored against you, you don’t blame it on the game being broken, but rather admit that it was your mistake and that the goal happened because of that.
Even if the score ends up being 10–0, as long as you know every goal you conceded was due to your own error — I have no issue with that.
Even attackers — I don’t mind if they mess up a skill move or if the defender reads it well and stops them. I won’t say defenders are too strong if it’s clear that the player has solid defensive skill. In that case, I won’t blame the game at all — on the contrary, I’ll blame myself and try to improve and be better than the defender next time.
If that’s how things work, then I have no problem at all — and I completely agree.
Because at the end of the day, none of us like glitches, and they’re not a fair way to play.
That’s what I want to but it’s not going to be arcade gameplay. The reason 25 was so bad is ea was slowly switching over to arcade gameplay. The more realistic the more of a skill gap we can have.
So we kind of agree on something, one way or another, but we don’t really know how it can be achieved.
That’s why EA is currently doing the right thing. Instead of forcing one type of gameplay — why not both? That’s why I believe there are now two separate development teams: one focused on authentic gameplay, and another focused on competitive gameplay
Let’s see which one turns out better. That’s why I’m optimistic. Let’s wait and hope that, in the end, the game will be great for everyone — or at least for 90% of the player base.
The right thing would be to make both options online. That way people who want to play realistic would still be able to play. Also what about people who want an arcade experience offline. Why should they be forced to play online.
If they only gave you the option to play realistic online you wouldn’t like it.
I think this will really hurt a lot of the player base.
Also let’s say you do enjoy the arcade gameplay. You think everyone wanting realism isn’t going to try to get ea to nerf it? People will say the scorelines are to high ping pong passing and pace is to strong. Now ea might actually ignore people wanting realism but they might not so it still might impact your experience.
Sure, I understand your Pov. And you have every right to ask for the ability to play either Authentic Gameplay or Competitive Gameplay online or offline — based on your preference. You shouldn't be forced into one specific option. It's totally fine — this is a fair right for everyone, and it doesn't bother me at all. On the contrary, it would actually allow each player to enjoy the mode they feel comfortable with.
Exactly this. Please read this EA. :)
This will make life easier for EA as well since people will as you say always wanting the game in different directions.
And once again, at least make it an option for Seasons.
