Early access clarification please (PS5 + EA Play)
I initially had the Standard Edition of FC26 on order on PS5, but then decided to cancel that pre-order today, and order the Ultimate edition on PS5 instead to be able to play Thursday 18th September 00.00/midnight time UK (7 days early).
I've now seen that if you have an EA Play subscription (not necessarily EA Play Pro, just EA Play), you can access the game in the UK on Thursday 18th September @ 1pm local time.
I have a subscription of EA Play already.
Three questions:
- Is the above correct? If so, the Playstation store still shows that I can only access the game ("playable in") at midnight on Thursday. So will it let me in earlier that afternoon?
- Had I still only pre-ordered the Standard Edition of FC26, could I still have accessed the game at Thursday 1pm UK time on PS5 (using my EA Play subscription), and then still played through the 7-day early access period like Ultimate edition pre-orders could have done? Or would access have stopped after the 10hr trial/10hr early access, and then resumed only from 26th Sept?
- Is the 1pm early access a 10hr trial, or just full early access? What's the difference? Does any progress made in the 10hr trial carry over to the release of the full game?
This change in release timetable has been poorly communciated and relatively last minute. Hopefully it is announced well in advance next time.
