To me, it's fine even if it's not a football game—they play this game with rugby skills, and I can do that too.
I only hate EA for doing nothing about those who make you watch every single celebration scene, waste time after winning, and have no blacklist system.
They just do this again and again—someone scores one goal, then passes the ball back to the center-back and keeps possession until I chase him.
I will quit immediately if I see this kind of opponent, because I want to play online with humans. I don’t know if such an attitude can even be considered human behavior—maybe it's a beast.
And if you quit because the opponent is abusing the game mechanics, YOU get penalised by EA for not completing the game.
I had a game of RUSH once where one teammate ran into the corner rubber banding, the other was full on AWK, and the last would run straight at the opponents team every single time and try a trick before losing the ball or blazing over with a power shot.
it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to win that game, hell, it was impossible for me do anything so I quit.
And EA penalised me for "ruining the enjoyment of others"
Better yet, when I actually spoke to one of the forum "managers" around here about it he told me "well you should just accept it and complete the game if you don't want to get penalised"
Yes, EA themselves are telling players that they don't care if they are having fun and they should just waste their time playing a game it is impossible to win because you are not allowed to quit under any circumstances
