I agree with this observation. The offside runs can be quite frustrating and often feel unnecessary. A few years ago this did not seem to happen as frequently.
Of course timing passes correctly is part of the game, and that makes sense from a gameplay perspective. However, when attackers make constant forward runs without any awareness of the defensive line, they end up going offside immediately. In other situations, they remain too passive and stay hidden behind defenders instead of creating a passing option.
This creates situations where building an attack becomes unnecessarily difficult, especially right after regaining possession. Ideally, the attacking AI would show greater awareness and intelligence in their movement — trying to stay in line with the defense and making more controlled runs instead of simply sprinting forward without hesitation.
As reflected in the card’s stats, playstyles, and position, each player should naturally behave somewhat differently. However, in practice they often seem to make the same type of runs, regardless of those attributes.
It would greatly improve the flow of attacking play if the AI movement was a bit more balanced and situationally aware.
