Career Mode Matches are unplayably slow

I've just installed FC 26, and, while all matches in other game modes run totally smoothly with no issues, the games in career mode run either at 5ish FPS, or with the match speed being drastically reduced (a long GK kick can take nearly thirty seconds to hit the ground, for example)

Is there a fix I can make now, or should I just wait for an update?

Specs:

i7-12650H, RTX 3050M, 16GB RAM, all graphics settings on low. I bought and installed from Steam.
