I am in this same exact boat it seems...although I haven't gone through the chatbots yet. My 10 yo loved watching the world cup and was excited when he heard the FC 26 game was on sale. He spent his own money on the game, but we're in this dumb loop.
First I couldn't even create an EA account for him on my phone, it said it required a Mac or PC. Got past that finally, but he can't actually access the online options for gameplay and building out his own team.
We got it on Switch 2, and I was aware cross platform play was not an option, but we figured there would be some of these online options; we also understood with the child account that voice chat likely wasn't going to be an option, which is fine as well. But he can't even sign into his account on the game. It takes him to the sign-on screen which ONLY ALLOWS email addresses from an account, doesn't allow his account to login due to it looking for the email address format.
So yeah, it would be great if EA could A) make it possible for him to play the game as it should be and B) Make account management sooo much easier by allowing for all 3 options when signing in (email, username, or phone number)
