FC26 – Troubleshooting Steps Already Tried
Windows Updates:
- Checked installed updates via wmic qfe
- Confirmed no updates from 30–31 August 2025 remain
- Uninstalled KB5064401 and KB5065426
- Uninstalled KB5066579 (Sept cumulative)
- Verified KB5064075 is not installed
- Double-checked with wmic qfe list full — no missed KBs after 29 Aug
System / BIOS:
- Confirmed Secure Boot enabled (Windows UEFI)
- Disabled Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x/VMX) in BIOS
- Disabled virtualization features (Hyper-V, Windows Hypervisor Platform, Virtual Machine Platform)
- Restarted after each change
EA App & Anti-Cheat:
- Cleared EA App cache
- Repaired FC26 6+ times
- Fully uninstalled and reinstalled FC26
- Uninstalled/reinstalled EA Anti-Cheat (including deleting leftover folders)
- Manually reset EA Anti-Cheat service
- Event Viewer error every time:
EAAntiCheatService
The game fc26.exe exited unexpectedly, exit code: 0xFFFFFFFF
Game / App Testing:
- Tried running fc26.exe directly
- Ran EA App as admin
- Set all .exe files to run as admin
- Disabled overlays (Discord, NVIDIA, etc.)
- Disabled antivirus completely
- Deleted license/config folders
- Verified integrity of game files after reinstall
General:
- Restarted PC at least 5 times during testing
- Tried launching over 300 times
- Updated GPU drivers
Current Behavior:
- FC26 splash screen loads, bar completes, then game closes
- EA App shows: "Failed to launch game. An error on our end caused the launch to fail."
- Only consistent failure point: EA Anti-Cheat terminates fc26.exe at launch
