FC 26 Career Mode saves missing after PS5 database rebuild
When I launched the game recently (having played it for 200 hours previously), it started as if it were the first time ever (asking me to choose my favourite club and set initial preferences). All of my Career Mode saves were gone from the in-game menu.
However, I have checked my PlayStation 5 storage and my saved data is still present locally (around 94.38 MB). This suggests the save data has not been deleted, but the game is no longer detecting or loading it.
The issue began immediately after my PS5 performed a “Rebuild Database” process on startup. Since then, the game has not been able to recognise any existing Career Mode progress.
Since noticing the issue, I have:
- Confirmed the saved data is still on console storage
- Verified I am using the correct user profile
- Launched the game without being connected to the internet
- Rebuilt the PS5 database a second time
- Checked cloud storage for backups (none available or usable)
Despite all of this, the game continues to behave as though no save data exists, even though it is clearly still present on the system.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or managed to recover their Career Mode saves after something similar? Any help or insight would be appreciated.
