FC 26 on PC – Ongoing Gameplay Slowdown and Input Delay Issues

I’m posting to raise awareness about a persistent gameplay issue I’ve been experiencing in EA SPORTS FC 26 on PC, which has made the game increasingly frustrating to play.
What’s happening
In multiple modes — including Clubs, Ultimate Team (Rivals/Champions) and Squad Battles — gameplay starts off feeling normal and responsive. However, after a short period of time, the match consistently becomes slow and unresponsive, with noticeable input delay. Player actions feel delayed, turning becomes sluggish, and the overall pace of the game feels as if it is running in slow motion.
This change happens mid-match, not at kickoff, and once it starts, it usually persists for the rest of the game.
Why this doesn’t seem network-related
My connection indicators are consistently green, with low ping.
I experience the same slowdown in Squad Battles, which are played against AI and do not depend on online matchmaking.
FC 25, which is still installed on my system, runs smoothly online under the same internet conditions.
Other online games on my PC do not suffer from similar issues.
Based on this, the problem appears to be specific to FC 26, rather than my internet setup.
System and performance context
My PC comfortably meets EA’s recommended requirements for FC 26. I’ve also tried extensive troubleshooting on my end, including graphics adjustments, driver updates, cache clearing, and system optimizations. While these steps sometimes make the game feel slightly better for a short time, the slowdown and input delay eventually return, often within minutes.
Overall impact
I was genuinely looking forward to FC 26, but the current state of gameplay on PC has made it difficult to enjoy or compete consistently. The fact that many other PC players are reporting the same pattern of delayed and slow gameplay suggests this may be a wider issue that needs attention.
