FC 26 won't launch on PC - EA AntiCheat error 0xC0000409
I HAVE TRIED THIS
- BIOS Update: Updated the motherboard BIOS to the absolute latest version to ensure complete system stability and hardware compatibility.
- Clean Game Reinstall: Completely uninstalled FC 26 via Steam and downloaded it fresh on the system.
- Steam File Verification: Verified game file integrity via Steam, with all 674/674 files successfully validated.
- Official AntiCheat Reinstall: Ran EAAntiCheat.Installer.exe as Administrator, uninstalled EA Javelin AntiCheat, and reinstalled it directly for FC 26.
- AntiCheat Core File Audit: Checked Preloader_i.dll in the game directory to confirm it was the official EA AntiCheat file (v3.9.5) and not corrupted.
- Mod & Leftover DLL Removal: Cleaned up previous modding tools and manually scanned the game folder to ensure no leftover third-party DLLs (dinput8.dll, winmm.dll, version.dll, dxgi.dll) remained.
- Visual C++ Redistributables: Ran setup and repaired all Microsoft Visual C++ v14 (2015–2022) x86 and x64 packages.
- Administrator Privileges: Forced both the EA App launcher and FC26.exe to run with full Administrator privileges.
- Settings & Cache Reset: Renamed the local settings folder to settings_backup to force the game to create a completely clean user configuration.
- Windows Security & Antivirus Check: Reviewed Windows Security Protection History to confirm no active blocks or false positives were applied to FC 26 or EA Javelin.
- Software & Installed Apps Audit: Verified through Installed Apps that no active reWASD, DAEMON Tools, Catch!, or Astroburn software was present on the PC.
- Revo Uninstaller Deep Clean: Temporarily installed reWASD to run a deep Revo Uninstaller scan, thoroughly wiping leftover folder paths like ProgramData\DiskSoft.
- DriverStore Explorer (RAPR) Audit: Opened RAPR as Administrator and scanned the Windows Driver Store to detect and delete any rogue Disc Soft or DiscSoftLTD drivers.
- Device Manager Deep Scan: Turned on "Show hidden devices" in Device Manager and audited Storage Controllers, USB Controllers, System Devices, and Bluetooth for leftover virtual bus items.
- Windows Services Clean-up: Checked services.msc and executed sc delete commands in Command Prompt (Admin) for reWASDService and DiscSoftBusService.
- FIFA Mod Manager Testing (Offline Confirmation): Launched FC 26 through FIFA Mod Manager, which successfully bypassed the EA AntiCheat and booted the game in Offline Mode—confirming the GPU (RX 6600), CPU (Ryzen 5600), and game files are fully operational, and that EA AntiCheat is solely responsible for the crash.
What more can i do to play the game?
