It doesn't sound ridiculous at all. It's entirely possible there's an issue with your ISP that is causing this. If it were everyone worldwide, there would be a bigger issue, but when there's a group of them all on one ISP, that indicates an issue with the ISP. You're always welcome to run the Connection Quality Report and get a screenshot of the results.
It is not just true that it is only related to one single ISP, or is it?
I have seen users facing this same issues in the UK, South Africa on X/Reddit. Just in this thread, I can find user(s) who do not have this ISP, complain about this issue. Even EA help chat advisors have said that this is a known issue and the team is working on it, it's just that that response has stayed constant for two weeks now.
