routing misconfiguration
I play via LAN connection.
Internet speed: 1 Gbps (see attached screenshot for detailed metrics).
I have changed five different ISPs — the result remains identical.
The connection is consistently poor: the in-game "pseudo ping" shows 16 ms, but the actual gameplay feels like 100–200 ms latency throughout the entire year.
Only 2–3 days per year, the connection feels genuinely stable and smooth.
After trying every possible solution — changing the gaming router, switching DNS and MTU settings, installing routing management software, using VPNs, and even changing ISPs — if anything helped, it was only for a few matches.
Can this website actually help with my issue? Because on the EA Help website, there’s no option to submit a support case for review of my specific problem.
I’m experiencing severe connection issues in EA Sports FC. My game consistently connects to US servers instead of nearby European ones, even though I’m located in Ukraine and my ISP provides a stable route to Frankfurt (average ping 28–32 ms).
Traceroute results clearly show that traffic first goes from Ukraine -> Hetzner (Germany) -> DE-CIX Frankfurt, but then reroutes through Zayo (ae1.cs1.fra6.de.eth.zayo.com), which sends packets to the United States. As a result, latency spikes to 120–180 ms, causing gameplay lag and input delay.
I also tested VPN connections via Warsaw, Frankfurt, Milan, and Helsinki — each worked fine for 1–2 matches, then reverted to the same US routing issue.
Could you please check if my EA account is being incorrectly assigned to the US server cluster instead of the European region?
Thank you for reviewing this technical case.
