False Coin Distribution Bans - Winter Wildcards
I am sharing my experience to see whether other players encountered a similar issue during the Winter Wildcards promotion.
My account was permanently banned for online gameplay for alleged “coin distribution.” Prior to the sanction, my activity consisted solely of normal gameplay and routine transfer market trading. During the Winter Wildcards promo, I packed Winter Wildcards items, including RB Federico Valverde, which I listed and sold on the transfer market at prices consistent with the prevailing market value at that time. The coins earned were then used to purchase other player items, again in line with standard gameplay behaviour.
I did not buy or sell coins, use third-party services, or engage in any activity outside EA’s Terms and Conditions. Given the significant market volatility during this promotion and the number of similar reports from other users, it appears possible that legitimate transfer market activity may have been incorrectly flagged by automated systems.
Despite appealing, I have not been provided with specific transaction details explaining the sanction. I am posting to understand how widespread this issue is and whether others affected during Winter Wildcards have had their cases reviewed or overturned.
I am sharing this to:
- Understand how widespread this issue is
- See if others have had bans overturned after escalation
- Encourage EA to review whether Winter Wildcards market volatility may have caused false positives
If you have been affected or successfully resolved a similar case, I would appreciate hearing your experience.
