Is EA nerfing older player cards? Or are the new cards super OP?
Finesse shot with Pajor used to be a guaranteed goal. Lately the goalkeepers (Neuer Unbreaklable) seems to catch them like a NFL wide receiver. When he's not catching them, they hit the post or go just wide.
The new "meta" Evos are shredding my defenders, Mapi Leon and TOTW Aleixandri, like they were silver cards.
Is anyone else having these issues?
I don't think they have nerfed old cards, as I'm currently running RR Alvarez as striker with finesse+. It's more that we are hitting the time of year when they step up the power curve a bit, and that always leads to older cards feeling out of place until they can get an evo.
There are still some viable gold cards, but you are likely to get cooked by people that have top cards. I just take the rough with the smooth and do what I can, but it depends how competitive you are.
It sounds like EA is the Apple equivalent of video games. They start to mess with your existing iPhone (drain battery, delay texts, lower audio quality) to get you to buy their shiny, new product. I may need to stop playing.
