Why are high ranked players so bad?
Recently got into the Elite division, something I've noticed is how bad the players are in Div 1 and Elite. I've played better players in Div 2-3.
Most players once you reach higher divisions, aren't actually better at the game, they just abuse game mechanics more. More often than not I'm not playing against anyone with any real game sense, knowledge of football or any fluidity in their play. What I am playing against however are people that spin in endless circles and trying to run the byline and cut back for a tap in.
Its funny to watch, and boring. Once you shut down their one style of play they don't know what to do and end up just crumbling. They don't improvise, don't learn, they just keep trying the same tactic over and over again despite having next to no success doing it.
It does make me question why you'd even play the game though. What's the point in spending hours doing the same 2-3 things an infinite amount of times. It must be boring AF.
These team have some amazing players that can do all sorts of cool stuff, yet, you're just trying to get tap ins? No crosses, not finesses from outside the box, no skill moves to beat a defender, no actual IRL football tactics. Just byline and cut back.
If you guys want to get to a higher division just learn to defend that playstyle and you'll probably climb pretty quickly. Be warned however that it's probably not worth it. You'll have more 'fun' and 'varied' types of games in lower divisions.
