Concern About the Direction FC Mobile Is Taking, Start Feeling Like Paywalls.

It’s becoming increasingly disappointing to see the direction EA and FC Mobile are taking. Recent updates—starting with Drafts and now locking top players behind another system like Boxes—don’t feel like meaningful improvements to gameplay. Instead, they feel like additional paywalls layered onto the experience.

What’s most frustrating is that this direction seems disconnected from the reality of your own community. A large portion of the player base is free-to-play. Not everyone can afford to spend money every time a new system is introduced. When progression and competitiveness are repeatedly tied to purchases, it slowly pushes loyal players away.

Most of us understand that monetization is necessary to keep the game running and evolving. But right now, the balance feels off. Accessible rewards are becoming fewer, gems are limited, and the options to compete or progress without spending are shrinking. This makes the game feel less rewarding and more discouraging over time.

As a player who genuinely enjoys FC Mobile and wants it to succeed long term, this is concerning. The current approach risks damaging trust and creating the impression that revenue is being prioritized over player experience. Ignoring this feedback could lead to losing the very community that has supported the game for years.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously and that future updates strike a healthier balance between business goals and the players who keep the game alive.

It's cheap and efficient developing... little thought, little cost to them.. roll out mind numbing draft after draft, with no effort on actual events or gameplay.  It's like they've given up on this title. Sad

  • Well said. Couldn’t agree more. At this point I see ZERO evidence that EA devs listen to or care what we say in here, but at least I feel a little less crazy when I read so many others feeling the same way I do — frustrated, indignant, and increasingly resigned to quitting the game simply to preserve my mental health.

  • Rayugaa Here is the thing, while some of your observations are accurate and share the player's base thoughts, signing off your post with "Yours Truly Hater" is one step a bit too far, and you lose your valid argument with this single comment instantly. If I were you, I'd drop the "hate speech trigger" from your post. It does break the forum rules.

Started becoming much more pay to win since the Captains event but the TOTY draft thing has just accelerated it. I saw the draft set up for what it was on the first day, put the game down and haven't returned back to it once since. I check in on here to see what's happening and it seems like there's more bugs, more people disgruntled and disillusioned with the game than ever before.

Shame really as I'd built a 120 OVR team, with 250k gems and 17billion coins that's now sat there doing nothing

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. I’ve read through everything raised here (and in similar threads) and I’m passing it on to the team. Your input genuinely matters—especially when you include clear details—so please keep sharing whenever you can. And if you can keep it constructive, it makes it much easier for us to act on it and share it with the right people.

With all due respect, we’ve been giving the same feedback about this event for a month and we’ve gotten “crickets” in response from the dev team. You say keeping it constructive “makes it much easier for us to act on it,” but where is this action of which you speak? I mean this in all seriousness. What steps has EA taken in response to ANY of the feedback that’s been shared? (Because it feels to most of us like there’s been none.)

As it stands, this forum acts like a one-way mirror. EA has transparency into what we are thinking and feeling by way of copious comments, but we get basically zero information in return except for these constant assurances that EA is “listening.” We play this game day in and day out and see no substantive changes (e.g., the community hates the draft system and the poor exchanges surrounding it and yet the Ginga, Lunar New Year, and Ramadan mini events are all using it). So, please explain why we’re supposed to feel reassured by what appear to most of us to be empty words (that EA is listening and acting on any of our comments).

Here’s a constructive suggestion for EA:  Take 30 mins to compose a general reply to the community summarizing what EA has “heard” from us over the last month about TOTY and the draft system and detail any “actions” you’ve already taken and those you are in the process of taking. Tell us which issues you intend to address and which are non-negotiable. This is Communications 101 stuff. If you want to foster a healthy, respectful, and productive relationship with the FCM community then foster it with open, two-way communication.

At the end of the day this is mostly about respect and trust. EA keeps asking for it from the community, but isn’t showing enough in return. The “dev team” is a black box to most of us and the decisions they’ve made recently (as reflected in the game we play everyday) don’t make sense to us and have made the game a LOT less enjoyable. So, when we register our feedback and get nothing in return (no changes and no communication) then this feels insulting (verging on contempt). If this is not what EA intends then it needs to stop beseeching us to “keep it constructive” and, instead, provide either substantive changes to address our concerns, or, at a minimum, provide us with details about what it is “hearing” and what it plans to do about it.

In the end, actions speak louder than words, and whether EA “acts” on a reasonable request like the one above will speak louder than a thousand pat “thanks for your feedback” replies. Does EA value and respect this community enough to be more transparent and engage in two-way communication? It’s that simple, and the ball is EA’s court.

  • Terrific and well constructed post Rayugaa Looks like they were scrambling for an excuse to remove this as it will resonate with so many players. At no point does this post lose it's credibility and it's laughable to suggest otherwise.

I totally agree and understand the point about monetization. I'd also add that it's frustrating that none of the (increased?) income is being reinvested by improving the gameplay that has been complained about by so many players for such a long time. Also, the (low budget?) events are becoming tired, they are just recycled and lack any innovation. Increasing profit is their sole ambition in my opinion.

The gulf between P2W and F2P is now too big to compete. Like you say, more and more of the best players are hidden behind a paywall and rest are hard to obtain using the new draft system without investment, particularly if you only need to improve certain positions. Add to this the relatively new badge system, which is also just a reward for substantial investment, especially to gain +3 OVR. F2P no longer stand a chance against opponents who can invest heavily.

Personally, I enjoy squad building but even this aspect has now been ruined as well. I could carry on but there's no point in wasting my time.

There was no scrambling to find reasons to remove the post because there was nothing wrong with the message it tried to convey, apart from some of the unnecessary comments, especially the one at the end, which broke the forum rules. The OP has now edited that part out shortly after my post with a tag, making the post compliant.

Anyway, providing comprehensive, emotionless and accurate feedback, even when extremely negative, is one thing, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as posters stick to the facts, but adding swearing, hate speech and commenting on moderation is another. It will lose the valid argument and will lead to suspensions only.

The current game state is what it is. As you pointed out, it does offer little value for the effort/cost required, which is why many took a break or quit.  I am barely playing it outside of LVL to help my league stay active/competitive. A lot of similar feedback has been posted on Reddit/Discord/here and through the channels available to volunteer mods like myself or Mendoza. At the end of the day, the feedback is passed on, but what is missing is the response from the dev studio, which has been pointed out to EA a lot.
Keep in mind the decisions are made by the dev team and FCM product owners, not the CMs on the forums.
