Galaxy A72: Severe Frame Drops in FC 25 (CPU at Max Level 5 & Cool Temp)

Since Update 26, I am experiencing major frame drops during H2H matches and training sessions on my Galaxy A72 (Snapdragon 720G). I have already performed a system Wipe Cache Partition and cleared game cache, but the issue persists.

Technical Proof (Attached Image):

I am attaching a combined screenshot from Samsung's Thermal Guardian which proves the following:

CPU Performance: The CPU is consistently running at Level 5 (Maximum Power) during the frame drops.

Thermals: The device temperature is well below the thermal threshold.

This confirms that the issue is NOT related to thermal throttling or hardware limitations, but rather a software optimization bug with the new update on this specific chipset.

Please investigate this compatibility issue

I totally agree with you this 'magnet effect' and the AI interference have become unbearable after Update 26. It feels like the game is playing itself, and on top of that, we have these massive frame drops.

I’ve already sent my UID and technical logs to the support team, proving my device is running at Level 5 performance, so they can’t blame my hardware anymore.

If they don’t fix this AI-driven lag and optimization mess, many of us will simply switch to eFootball. We want to play a football simulation, not an unstable AI-controlled script. Hopefully, Pulsar can push this to the devs before more players leave

Thanks for the support. To answer your question: The performance is poor from the get-go, but it definitely deteriorates progressively during H2H matches. I suspect Update 26 has serious optimization issues with CPU resource allocation. I appreciate you mentioning this to Pulsar; we need a real fix for this lag

  • I just don't understand why they insist with this stupid AI and not let the players control the gameplay. I remember that Auto defence and auto play was optional. Now if i turn auto play off the AI still applies that magnet effect. Why we are not allowed to control the speed and distance of the passes? Why did they took out that screen touch passing system? I saw they want to reduce the AI in Fc26 hopefully they will do the same with the mobile version. The game just became boring and unstable. So many moments in the game where players just do dumb things. I would rather play 2000 version of FIFA mobile.

  • dg15gc9g6c8n Does it deteriorate progressively as you play the game for a while, or is it just poor performance from a get go?
My S25+ (Snapdragon Elite 8) is fine after the game starts, but over time (especially if you leave MM running for a bit) seems to slowly drop the framerates to the point the game boots you out, stating your does not meet hardware requirements.
I have seen the same behaviour on my old S20 Ultra, it might be an old phone (with Snapdragon 865), but it's still relatively high spec when compared to the current mid-range phones.

m3thodmn  Not a fan of the AI "compensating" aspect either, it does kill the gameplay more than it helps it.

Anyway, I'll have a chat with Pulsar when he's back online.

  • Update on my case #233305044: I am concerned about the generic troubleshooting steps provided by support so far. After providing detailed technical evidence (Snapdragon 720G running at Level 5 with stable temps), the response I received was to 'Clear Cache' and 'Reinstall the game'."

"This suggests that the technical reports are being overlooked. Update 26 has clearly affected optimization for mid-range chipsets. I have already performed a system Wipe Cache Partition and the issue persists exclusively in FC Mobile."

"As a loyal player providing actual performance data, I am looking for a real technical investigation. I hope this case is escalated to the development team immediately to address these optimization flaws. We need the game to be stable again

Exactly! It’s frustrating when the blame is shifted to our devices or network while we provide clear technical evidence. As shown in my attached screenshot, my CPU is locked at Level 5 and the temperature is perfectly fine. This proves the hardware is performing at its best, yet the frame drops persist. This is a clear optimization issue that EA needs to address for the Snapdragon 720G chipset. Hope a CM (Community Manager) sees this soon

  • This thing with the system/network limitations is straight **bleep**. The problem is at EA but they like to throw the blame on us. I play this game on two different phones. There is no difference between them. I actually find playing on the Redmi Note better than on my last model of Samsung. My internet connection is at least decent to good and I live in an area that should be close to EA servers. The problem is that they don't care about game optimization and also the gameplay style adds to the problem. In my opinion the AI system trying to improve the gameplay is acting like a barrier and is ruining the game. I also think that having a more direct,  simple gameplay based on passes would improve the game experience. From what I noticed the AI trying to correct my moves by telling the players to go left while I tell them to go right is the biggest problem. Then all the extra backwards passes and players turnings overwhelm the servers whit unnecessary commands.
