Hey Everyone,
Wanted to hop in for those who are still running into an issue not being able to get the game downloaded. I see a few different issues with the download so I wanted to get a sense of what specific issue players are having.
Can you please provide me with the following:
- Platform:
- If console, which console generation do you have?
- What type of issue do you have?
- Summarize your bug:
- How often does the bug occur?
- What happens when the bug occurs?
- Screenshots of any errors you may receive:
I am on PC Using the EA App.
I have an EA Play membership and am trying to download to the game to use my 10 hour trial. The game is in my library and available to download but when I go to download the game it gets stuck on "Preparing" (See first screen shot). After several minutes I get an error message "There was a problem with your download. Give us a few minutes, then try again." (See Second Screen Shot).
I have never been able to get past this point. I have been trying since it first unlocked.
Solutions I have tried:
Cancelling and restarting the download.
Exiting and Restarting the EA App
Logging out of the EA App and logging back in.
Restarting my computer.
Clearing EA App Cache.
Any further guidance on this matter would be welcome.

I have ea play through gamepass ultimate, so if i had to guess that would probably be the reason.

@Lonewolff55 Appreciate it. Can you pause the download, go into the settings, change the download speed to match 20MBs and then run the app recovery? I want to see if it kicks the download into action.

Summarize your bug: Download of ea play 10 our trial of Madden 24 does not progress past "preparing"--does not progress after multiple cache clearances and restarts. When left alone to run after a while we receive a message that simply says "try again in a few minutes"
How often does the bug occur? Every time I've tried to download the game since Monday, August 10 at 8pm
What happens when the bug occurs? Download says "preparing" then appears to time out if left alone.
Screenshots of any errors you may receive:It's still stuck on preparing even after those steps.
this sucks because I took time off work to try this game out to see iif it improved from 23 because I had a lot of issues with everyone else. I haven't even bought the full game just the ea play to try and it's already costed me more than I can get back in terms of monetary loss. 2 days of pay out the window for something with all the hype and yet still all the issues :/

@Lonewolff55 We have escalated it up to the team as there are a few other threads with players running into the same thing so they are taking a look.
when I got in touch with EA chat last night, asking for a copy of the game as compensation they said I was the first person who had reported this issue, which makes no sense since plenty others are having this same issue and others.
