User Pass Defense Not Working As Intended

it seems whatever team you play for no matter the overall just play worse than any other team. ive tried this on both sides of the ball with the fantasy draft ive build a monster run blocking o line and a great RB only to have worse overall d just bust right by and blow up the play and ive put together on another draft a all monster dbs and a good d line to just have them look lost and not make any plays. the only guy that does well is my person created corner but he has everything cranked up to 99 cause i was testing speed and acc 99 being wonky and getting smoked by slow guys

Yeah this is a common issue for a lot of people right now, to the point content creators are even making videos about it when they're usually pretty tolerant of such issues. CPU is just not working as intended across the board in many ways, but from what I understand, EA has it on their radar and is currently working on it.

GVRH​ Yeah for sure. What are you most excited about with the next update? Coverage def needs a change lol. I go through a lot of threads and keywords with just coverage call outs. 

EA_Shepard - i was highly disappointed in the upcoming update.  Sure, a few zones were fixed, but it seems extremely small for the amount of issues there is currently in the game.  CPU QB, Defense, Oline blocking, players not playing to ratings to name a few.  why are they adding more cosmetics to the game when they don't have the fundamentals working properly?  

Agreed, in franchise I’ve built a 90 OVR defense and I feel like they are oblivious to what their assignment is. I feel like I have to baby the linebackers into not dropping back 10-20 yards to cover underneath. The run defense is the only bright spot so far. I feel my d-line who I’ve built with Crosby, Johnathan Allen, and kayvon thibodeaux cannot shed a block to save their life to get to the qb. Overall the coverage has just been horrendous, for some reason alot of the time my corner who’s in a deep blue coverage will run across the field and man the opposite receiver leaving that deep blue coverage wide open for touchdowns. I’ve had a issue with setting a qb contain at times because when I do the defensive play crisscrosses and leaves coverage openings all over the field causing me to use timeouts and at this point I just pray scramble qbs don’t take off lol. I’m not some great madden player by all means but I feel no matter the coverage I try or blitzes I throw at the offense nothing works positively for me. I like the challenge of being in all madden on franchise and facing adversity but defensively I feel I’m being screwed out of that challenge by numerous oblivious defenders and players not knowing their assignments. 

off topic but you know who ends up being sneaky good on the edges even though they have lower overall is jack sawyer and chop robinson like no matter how terrible the d line and my dbs are doing these guys come away with sacks and run stops a good amount but the rest of the time like i said the d just looks lost and when the qb runs it feels like everyone just stands and waves as he goes by

EA_Shepard​ With this update, getting this coverage fixed is what I'm most excited about. I run a Cover 4 scheme, relying heavily on Cover 4 Palms...I'm sure you can seen where I'm going with this lol. Something I would like to see in the coming update after though, is some of the cosmetics stuff updated, especially getting those face scans in there and allowing more freedom for uniform customization.

Jokill05​ The larger upcoming update will address more. The ratings thing is a much bigger issue by the sound of it, so it's no wonder if it takes more time to fix. Just another thing that sounds like a development nightmare honestly. 

GVRH​ This release has been a nightmare.  Telling us we can play a week early then give us this LOL smh.  i would have gladly waited longer if i knew!  i don't wanna have to take my blood pressure meds before playing Madden

Jokill05​ Lol, I agree...blood pressure medication or some relaxers should have been included in the Deluxe Bundle!

For real though, I think it would greatly benefit if they simply gave content creators more time at the invite, and allowed for an open beta like Battlefield 6 just had to try and get these things addressed earlier. Open Beta should begin as soon as CFB releases, and the CC Invite should be a couple weeks prior.  I would encourage anyone to buy EA play for a month and play the trial before buying if they aren't sure about the product.
