Mass Effect 3 Xbox 360 Collector's Edition content

I see a lot of people are having this problem as well, but I have yet to find a solution to my problem. I preordered the Collector's Edition of Mass Effect 3 back when it first came out and had the bonus content (mech dog, N7 weapons, squad outfits, casual hoodie for Shepard). I recently started a full replay of the entire trilogy and now when I start a new game, none of that content appears. Based on some research, it looks like this was caused by EA's removal of the Online Pass requirements from all their games. I've contacted support, but they've been little to no help with my situation, instead directing me here. It was suggested that I delete the DLC and redownload it from the store. Problem is, no such downloadable DLC exists. At least, I have nothing in my downloads listed as Online Pass or Collector's Edition bonus content and no such DLC appears in the store under that name. When I load up previous save files from before the Online Pass was removed, the bonus content is there. So the content is there, it just isn't activating anymore on fresh playthroughs. So, is anyone else still experiencing this problem? Is there a solution for xbox 360 users?

    Hey @Zephyros-Phoenix

The easiest solution would be, as our advisors suggested, to redownload the extra content from the Microsoft's marketplace. However, I don't think it's possible at the moment. I also cannot find the appropriate files in their store 🤭

I'll make our experts aware of this situation, but I am not sure if much can be done on our end. It's worth to contact Xbox support about it too.

I'll come back to you, once I get any updates.

    Thank you for your patience!

  • Thanks @EA_Ataashi. I really appreciate that and hope this can be resolved. One of the N7 weapons has always been my preferred weapon of choice for Shepard and the casual hoodie was my favorite casual outfit, so I would really like to get them back.

Yeah, no Online Pass or bonus content DLC is listed in the store, whether I access it from the marketplace or ME3's DLC menu. When I google it, there is a page for the ME3 Online Pass, but no button to purchase or download it at all.

I already contacted xbox support on the off chance they'd be able to do something since it's their marketplace and console that I'm playing on, but their support staff concluded that they are unable to resolve the issue on their end and that it has to be done through EA support.

  • Hi @EA_Ataashi,

Has there been any update? All my other attempts to contact support have come up dry with staff either not understanding my problem or just never responding to me.

I've attached some photos that might help. One is a screenshot of the xbox marketplace from my computer. This is the only way I'm able to even see the Online Pass as an item. It does not appear when I access the marketplace on console or the game's DLC menu. And as you can see, there isn't even an option from the browser to purchase or download it. So it exists, but I can't access it.

The second is a my code sheet that came with my preorder of the Collector's Edition six years ago. As the text states, I had to redeem the code for the Online Pass in order to use the Collector's Edition Exclusive Content. Ergo, EA removing the Online Pass must have affected my access to the bonus content somehow.

    Hey @Zephyros-Phoenix

We've already reached out to Microsoft to check what is going on with the DLCs (since it's technically their store), but I have no new information to share for now. I will keep you updated, when I get any solid news.

Thanks for all the additional information too!

  • Hey @EA_Ataashi I know it's been a few weeks, but I thought I'd update you. After weeks of waiting to hear back from Xbox support, they're telling me now that there's nothing they can do and that I have to contact EA support, which I had already done and which ended with them telling me that I need to go to Xbox support for a resolution. So, it seems that there is never going to be a solution to this as I'm stuck in an endless loop of one group telling me to go to the other for help. I just want the DLC I paid for, is that too much to ask?

I'm sorry that I haven't reached out to you in such a long time @Zephyros-Phoenix

At the moment, our team is checking the availability of a few Mass Effect and Dragon Age DLCs in the Microsoft's store. I've collected a few reports, which suggested that they are not listed there at all or are unavailable to purchase.

Unfortunately, I haven't received any updates on the case, which I could share with you right now ☹️

  • Hey @EA_Ataashi, so I finally heard back from XBOX support, who said they would contact EA about the problem. And here's the response I received:

"Unfortunately, EA didn't entertained us with our request. due to the fact that the said feature has been removed by them to all players who also had it."

So, I guess that means not only will I ever get the bonus content that I paid for back (even though I'm fully entitled to that content), but ANYONE else who had it on Xbox won't be getting it back either simply because EA won't "entertain" the problem. Great job EA, really great job implementing something into a game that took away content your customers paid good money for.
