Having the exact same issue because of auto-renew. Now I'm stuck after game #1 of the Stanley Cup final of my first BeP season, with two perks over available funds but that I simply cannot switch off (long lasting ones).

Have I just wasted my time playing all 82 regular season games + all the playoffs just to be stucked here ?!?
