Re: Deluxe upgrade not working.

Hi @Mastertonberry73,

Sometimes upgrades and add-ons need to be downloaded from the library to appear in-game. Could you check to see if there might be content there to download? The steps are:

- From the home screen, go to [Library] and select the 'Purchased' folder.
- Select Plants Vs Zombies: Battle for Neighborville. Add-ons/upgrades can be found in a sub-section within each game.
- Select ‘Download’ on the content screen. You can check the progress of your downloads in [Notifications] > [Downloads].

    Sorry, I don't know why the picture isn't working. All I have is the BFN with an icon of a controller and '+1' the upgrade itself isn't there?

    @Mastertonberry73 Hey, the image preview isn't working right now, but we can download and see the pic. If you choose the 1 Item in Your Add-Ons, do you get further options?

  • Hi, thank for your reply :-) No, I don't get anything. If I click the add-on I just get 'Installed'. I haven't had the comic through either?

    Thank you. I take it that you've restarted from the power menu already? If not, can you try it?

    If this has no effect can you try clearing cache and restoring licenses?


    To clear cache

    1. Press and hold the PlayStation button on your controller
    2. Select Turn Off PS4
    3. Let the PlayStation 4 fully power down and wait at least 30 seconds
    4. Restart the PlayStation 4
    5. Hold L1 + R1 while booting up the game

    Note: This will also reset your brightness setting and choice of language.

    Also, can I check what region you're in/which regional store you bought the upgrade in, and if your copy of BFN is from that same region's store?

  • Hi, thank you for your kind reply. I have also tried that too. As far as I'm aware, I'm in the Uk/EU region. en-gb. I don't know how to find that out exactly? 

    I have spent 5 days now waiting to sort this! I have heard back from the  PlayStation 'Specialist team' which was quite honestly a waste of time. All they suggested was: 

    'Please be advised the deluxe upgrade content needs to be picked up in game from "Rux's Emporium". NO really? I know where it's supposed to be, that's how I know it isn't there!

    They also said:
     'If you are unable to locate the content in that section please can you provide us a short video showing this so we can raise this with the publisher to investigate further.' 

    I'm getting fed up now! I just want what I have paid for! :-)

    Is there any way to manually give us the content individually??  Mine says Ive purchased and installed but I dont have the deluxe add on content from rux :/ 

    ea username is mgmnr9

    ps4 username is mgmnr9

    @mgmnr9 Can you double check you've tried the steps listed previously?

    Also do you happen to have the case number for your previous case?


  • I'm sorry to hear you are having the same problem. But I'm glad I am not the only one! It's been a week now and I still don't have the up grade!  

  • I have heard back from PlayStation 'Specialist team' but now they want screenshots of the conversation I had with EA via twitter! This is all getting rather annoying now! I have a case number from PlayStation if that helps at all?

    Thanks for offering, but I'd have no use for such a thing. We've re-highlighted your case (and some others who've reported this since your post), hopefully we'll have some movement soon.

    Yeah I haven't heard anything from EA about this....still missing the content. ☹️ Im sad

  • I've been waiting nearly 2 weeks for this to be sorted. I totally understand that there are so many glitches and problems with the game, players being invisible, screen crashes, even the wrong emojis coming up when you select them, just to name 3! But waiting 2 weeks for this to get sorted? At the end of the day, we are all paying to play this game, PS or Xbox subscription and the EA subscription.

    EA support has, to be fair, tried their best with the usual fixes,none of which has worked. There are many who are having this exact problem, but it really needs to be sorted now.

    I am getting to a stage where I just want my money back from the Deluxe upgrade I paid for back on the 31st of January.

    Edit: can folks check their games today, and see if the content is available. You may need to grab the content from the addons section.

    @EA_David I redownloaded the game and the content was received finally. Not sure if EA had something go do with it...but I finally got it! Thanks

    Hey, sorry for the slow response. Yes an update rolled out last week to address the issue, so it should be fixed now.

    @EA_David Ah okay so EA DID do something about it after all, good to know, thank you for your help in getting it fixed!
  • Hey so I recently bought the Deluxe Edition as the full game from the sale going on I'm assuming for the holidays, and I've tried everything to gain access to the DLC content and nothing seems to work. The base game works fine if a little glitchy (my wifi is to blame I'm sure). 

    If anyone can get back to me with what I should do or if you need more information I'm free most of the time.
