Hello NessaTex! There seems to be a bit of confusion that I hope I can help clear up.
Performing device maintenance and troubleshooting steps is not unique to the Pogo gaming site. Technology has changed greatly over the last decade for us all (massively) — our browsers, operating systems (phone/tablet/laptop/desktop), graphics drivers, and security programs all stay in a constant state of updating, patching, and optimizing. Troubleshooting and maintenance steps are recommended by all major device and browser makers — Apple, Microsoft, Google, all provide guidance on their own support pages for keeping our devices and browsers running smoothly.
Additionally, every online service, whether gaming, banking, medical, or retail all have a troubleshooting or help section. It’s an industry standard, not something unique to Pogo.
Computers are more like a car than an appliance. Cars need ongoing maintenance: we have to check the air in the tires, fill it with gas, change the oil, check the radiator, balance the tires, watch the alignment, brakes, battery, and more. Nobody really enjoys doing all of that, but it’s a product that requires upkeep to keep running the way we expect it to. Our devices are no different.
Currently Solitaire Home Story is loading on the Pogo website and there are no Service Alerts as of yet, however you described a few things — “it constantly freezes up, restarts, or says retry.” Online gaming pushes our devices’ resources, and this is why you will often hear the suggestion to close other tabs or programs while gaming. A few common things that can cause these types of issues:
- A browser issue (outdated browser, corrupted cache/cookies/files, extension conflict)
- A device performance issue (memory/resource limitations/update)
- An unstable internet connection (modems/routers also receive updates and store information — turning it off and back on for a minute or two at least once a month can help greatly)
MomZu kindly provided some troubleshooting guides for our community that include links to the browser and device makers themselves for official steps and guidance. Of course, it’s always your choice whether to use the troubleshooting resources available.
As a long-time member, we would be sad to see you go over this. If you continue to experience issues or need further assistance with your account, please reach out directly to → Pogo – Official EA Help support. by scrolling down to the Contact Us button or select Formal Submittal to open a case about any issue.
Take Care and I wish you the Best from Texas 🤠💕
