I'm breathing a sigh of relief---I thought I was the only one with this same problem. It started over a month ago and I don't know what else to do to "fix" it. Just as you have done, so have I. I have never had a problem with this game in the nearly 9 years I've played it. Hope we can get POGO/EA to fix it; it's one of my faves. GL to you and I hope the company can resolve this for us.
