Hello and thanks for reaching out and sharing your experience. I believe I can help explain a bit of what's going on.
"I also Have Windows 10 because I can not afford a new laptop just to play this game."
Microsoft ended support for Windows 10 October 14, 2025. This decision is significant because this goes beyond Pogo or any online gaming site, this is about the overall security and safety of your online presence.
Why This Matters
- No more security updates → newly discovered vulnerabilities stay open forever.
- Online activity becomes riskier → browsing, email, banking, gaming, and social media all become easier targets for malware and fraud.
- Bad actors actively target unsupported systems because they know the holes won’t be patched.
- Even Microsoft compares using unsupported Windows to “leaving your front door unlocked.”
I understand this can be confusing because it still turns on and works, however the programs behind it - that keep it running and secure have become dated. Currently we’re living through one of the fastest technological shifts in human history, and it’s reshaping everything. Twenty years ago, an unpatched system (outdated) was a nuisance. Today, it’s a liability.
"Please do not have ne try everything again"
Unlike in times past, when something updates on modern devices it can change our settings, plus we need to keep them clean and updated even more now because there are more programs working together. There are system checks and maintenance that are repetitive and necessary. Are they fun - absolutely not and they can indeed be time consuming.
🌞Possible Workarounds (temporary and may not work)
Check if your laptop can get a free Windows 11 upgrade, here are the steps from Microsoft → Windows 10 support has ended on October 14, 2025 - Microsoft Support
Try Edge in InPrivate Mode: Press Ctrl + Shift + N on your keyboard to open an InPrivate window, then go to Pogo and try Daily Sudoku.
Try installing Pogo as an app on your desktop (PWA) Takes about 30 seconds and is completely free. It installs Pogo as its own little standalone app on your desktop, running slightly outside of normal browser restrictions, and can sometimes get things working again: Here are the steps given in another posting → How to install PWA in Windows
Try launching Pogo and Daily Sudoku from that new desktop icon. If it doesn't work, you can simply right-click the icon and uninstall it — no harm done.
Try the Firefox browser instead of Edge. You won't have to give up Edge just try using Firefox to see if this helps. Firefox is free, takes about 2 minutes to install, and tends to handle older systems better. Download Mozilla Firefox for Windows — Fast, Private & Free — Firefox
Manually update your graphics driver through the manufacture, steps can be found here > How to troubleshoot graphics issues on PC more details on why can be found here > Pogo Graphics Guide
A new computer one day 🙂
At times you can also find refurbished or returned laptops and desktops for significant savings at:
- Manufacturer outlets (Dell Outlet, Lenovo Refurbished, Apple Certified Refurbished, HP Renew / HP Outlet, Acer Recertified Store, Microsoft Certified Refurbished)
- Major retailers’ open‑box sections (generally with instore warranties)
Keep an eye out and take your time, you may be surprised what you find on sale one day! Try some of these workarounds for now and please take a moment to read the PWA posting in its entirety, there is a lot of useful information.
Hope this helps and Take Care 🐈⬛
