Actual Skateboarding Apparel?

Hey everyone, Maddie here! It's been quite a while since I've posted on here, although I've been playing Early Access since it hit the streets.

It's been over a couple months now, we haven't seen much changes to the game (besides the upcoming patch next week) and more importantly, the reward system is still lacking something everyone expected. 

I've completed basically everything? (All 3 reputations, Season 1 skate. pass and all story missions.) I'm still collecting all the ramps, rails and whatnot, yet it's all just random junk at this point. But the rewards through the reputations are just plain shirts and knock-off Converse shoes, but honestly that's just a piece of the issue. The Store is where EA wants us to buy all the "cool" appearance stuff, but still, it's clothes similar to what you unlock through the reputation system. Everyone looks like we all just got done shopping at a thrift store and wearing hand-me-down clothes and skateboarding parts. (Of course, not to insult thrift shopping, just making a point here.)

When are we going to see actual Skateboarding apparel? 

This isn't an insult to the current build of the game, it's truly an honest question to the Devs. In the previous builds, we at least saw bundles with a few reputable brands but that doesn't really scratch the surface of what's missing from the game.

Anyway, that's my rant. I'd love to hear opinions from the community too! 😊

    I wouldn’t get your hopes up. They want their game to scream “look how inclusive we are!” Instead of acknowledging the main point of the game. The fact we have 5 different styles of rainbow crop tops and leggings every week is a joke lol

    Hey, I totally agree, this really isn't the game to promote that stuff.

    It's just crazy how skate. isn't like the previous games at all. Even the skateboard designs suck, I have like 2 or 3 sets of wheels and trucks because those are locked behind paywalls too for some reason. This needs to change desperately.

    Agreed. However I would make the caveat that the Stunt challenges are the only ones I dislike. If we could replace the stunts with HoM, and keep the current standard for own the Spot, I’d be happier. 

    really they just need to go back to the drawing board.

    I agree with all of this.

    It's hard to really find the effort to play the current content when all of the rewards are not relevant to the theme of the game at all. And honestly, the new update is nice to see but it still doesn't look like it's bringing any of the classic game modes you mentioned. "Own The Lot - Except it's just a really lame version of OTL from Skate 3, Merry Christmas!"

    I think it's better for them that the game is free to play, otherwise this game would've been forgotten about already. 😜

    What, the few Thrasher, Santa Cruz, Girl, and Vans items weren’t enough? 😂😂 

    I say this in jest… sort of… the fact of the matter is this: EA saw that Epic and Battle.net are going gangbusters with skins, upgrades, and other junk that they are making everyone pay real money to own, and they said “you know what? Aside from our sports games, we’ve really been putting out some trash the last few years. Instead of going back to the drawing board, let’s do what everyone else is doing and make lots of money off of the fans.” Then they slapped this game together, and called it Skate (because they knew the fans of the series would be all over it after 10 years of waiting after Skate3), stripped the majority of what made the Skate series amazing (hall of meat,  various challenges, out running security, and pros hanging out in the game… the list goes on), flooded it with micro transactions, and then said “Well, the game is free, so you shouldn’t have expectations”. 

    Don’t get me wrong, this game is a ton of fun… but it’s definitely not Skate 4 like everyone anticipated.
