Game As a Whole
# Challenges
I think the challenges in this game are a great addition they are fun, some difficult and enjoyable with friends although it does feel like there are some missing especially player vs player. S.K.A.T.E , **bleep**/street contests and death races are all missing and are missed, I know at least I would like some friendly competition. The multiplayer challenges where you session I think was a good addition but you should be able to do more with it. I belive you should be able to play S.K.A.T.E. anywhere whether it be Trick or Line SKATE. The own the spot challenges should be an always thing not rotating and bring back Kill the spot. A cool feature would be for players to make their own line or session challenges and publish them or just with friends.
# Progression
The progression in this game I feel is terrible. In skate 3 you were able to skip the tutorial. This game and its “story” just feel like one long never ending tutorial there is no end goal it seems, and then having to do a certain amount of challenges to unlock the next area and it’s associated challenges. It feel tedious. Also the leveling up of area on the map I will say I like but you only level them up by opening loot boxes and challenge's. What if I don’t want to do challenges then I can’t unlock new loot boxes. I think leveling is cool but lacking. Also what even is the session or rip score. Some sort of free dlc with pros following them around the map or their own map would be cool giving them their own story.
# Cosmetics
The free cosmetics and store is this game are lackluster. Don’t get me wrong who doesn’t like gambling but the way it was done kinda sucks I feel. I liked the store in skate 3 but I also don’t hate the loot boxes, I hate what’s in them. I don’t want to spend all my money just to get 10 stickers a brick and a stop sign. I want to look cool without spending all my real money. Even if I did the paid cosmetics aren’t even all that good.
# Overall
The base game is fantastic all the glitches and the skating feels great. It feels like skate. The map is good the tricks feel good even though some are missing, hopefully they come back. everything else is not so great I would love to no life this game for a while but it gets so repetitive and even the refreshing challenges seem the same as the ones the day before. I don’t know how I feel about unlocking ramps and quick drops. You should be able to create your own skate parks. That was a big part of the fun at least for me in Skate 3 and playing others parks. maybe in that case when you make your own you have access to all parts? I also belive there are a lot of settings which is good for people who have been playing for a long time but there should be some sort of Easy Medium Hard for new players of the series
