What kind of hard drive do you have and is it still plugged into the Xbox when you are playing the game? Can you confirm if there are still files on both the internal and external? If there are files on the external it's possible the system is trying to pull data from both sources which can cause crashes. I've seen this happen for other games as well.
Hi
I've uninstalled it from the external and scanned it for any files left over.
I've reinstalled on the internal and updated it without the external plugged in. I managed to get one crate.
Today it crashed again in exactly the same place - opening a crate.

I think it will be best to get in contact with one of our EA Advisors so they can narrow down what is exactly causing this. We're seeing some other reports of this but not on a significant scale, so it will be best to gather your information for our specialists. It's unfortunate to hear you're experiencing this and we apologize it's happening. We'll get to the bottom of this though! Tried that - shame they aren't as helpful as you have been. They told me to uninstall Origin and a link to the PC version help page.

Can you let me know of the following:- Are you part of the Xbox One Preview Program?
- Have you tried clearing the saved data for the game? (Go to My Games & Apps>Highlight SWBFII>Press Start>Manage Game>Clear Saved Data)
- Do you have the latest Xbox One Software Update?
- Have you tried deleting your Xbox Gamertag from the console and re-added it?
I have just bought this game and it crashes every time a crate is opened. Hard crash then when the Xbox one x is being turned on it says it over heated. This happened 4 times in a row. I don’t want it to ruin my Xbox and there are lots of instances of this happening with other people consoles. My Xbox has never crashed like this before until playing this game. No issues at all with Apex Legends or Fortnite. Very much so game specific not a hardware issue. Please provide a solution or just remove the animation.
Yep tried all that, still crashed opening a crate.
EA know of this issue but a small number of people it's happening to, so don't know if it's a big enough problem for them to fix it.
If you go back a page or so you can see the different solutions I have tried but still hasn't fixed it.

We've raised this up to the team for review, however we strongly urge getting in contact with our Live-Support team so we can have a specialist pull up your account to give this a closer look. The team will always consider bug reports even if it's affecting a small group of players, but with limited reports it may take longer to fix depending on the difficulty in reproducing the error. We apologize for any negative experience it's had on your time in enjoying Star Wars Battlefront II.
Click here to contact an EA Advisor I hadn't played the game in a while but jumped back in a couple of weeks ago. Am experiencing the shut-off on my Xbox One X also, every time I open a crate.
